'79 was great, wasn't it? Unfortunately, that was then, and this is now. We need a new coach- one that can recruit the city and state. There's plenty of talent locally. DePaul just needs to get some of it.

Jerry Wrongwright is a clown. DePaul will NEVER succeed with this clown around. The assistant coaches have been told to look for other jobs, the head coach is still around and and the recruiting process is non existence.

Look what has happened at Alabama, Georgia and Kentucky...they are treating the process like a business. JLP must do the same thing.

Stability is the reason JLP keeps JW around? BS!! The answer is $$$. Sure you want to be in the Big East but you wont spend what's necessary to compete. It's painfully obvious JW cant recruit the type of players necessary and JLPs retention of JW after this past embarrasing year is good reason for her to lose her job as well.

As a 42 year old DePaul fan who can appreciate the big picture thinking. The bottom line is being 20 - 48, unable to keep local talent and having inadequate facilities tells you all you need to know. DePaul is over matched and can't compete in the Big East. Conference USA is about their level. Wainwright is not the answer; consistency being the motive or not.

Why is it taking DePaul so long to launch Lenti-Ponsetto? She has done a terrible job as the AD.

Fire your A.D. now Depaul or continue to wallow!! What a freaking joke. Put some money into the program, move the stadium back into the city, and Depaul will have a goose that lays the golden egg. People in this town are dying for a good college basketball team to root for.

Ponsetto needs to step down she is not doing her job for the school and the program. they been talking about putting up a stadium since DePaul high school was there nothing happened.the reason they got rid of Joey Meyer because of his losing record.Where are all the boosters now? They can,t even get one top recruit out of chicago. What happened to their resources in new york where they got bradshaw and hot rod nothing happening.

Good thing that idiot AD Bradshaw got rid of Meyer. Who wanted NCAA tournament appearances on an annual basis as DePaul had under Joey. This whole mess is Bradshaws fault. He though DePaul could be the next Kentucky and it headed that way with Pay As You Go Kennedy as coach. Problem is, selling your soul for an occassional Sweet 16 is no way to go, especially when you already had a team getting to the tournament annually. The program was never going to compete with the BCS programs or the Big Money schools but at least we had a local flavor and could sell that to area recruits. Now, the team has no local appeal, no local players, and is in a conference from the East Coast. They play in a terrible stadium that is the worst place I've ever watched basketball. Get back into a mid major conference where you belong and maybe we'll see some success again.

How can JLP possibly justify keeping this joke of a head coach? Depaul basketball has become a disgrace.

I couldn't disagree more.Chicago has no college basketball team to root for and nary any college athletics to root for. Digger Phelps wanted the job about five years ago. With the right AD and vision Depaul could be huge again..IMHO..

Simple. Get an on campus arena, actually recruit local kids.

Wainwright better hope to god that Koshwal and Tucker don't leave for the NBA.

Duplicating the successes of the Meyer years will be difficult. Access to the superstation is no longer a monster recruiting tool. The Catholic League pipeline has dried up. Not having a football team presents challenges.

They are in the Big East and could easily be the darlings of the Chicago media. DePaul needs to polish up its identity and marketing plan. Creating some excitement will make winning more possible.

Many, many issues right now with the program. But it all needs to start with the Head Coach. He hasn't recruited anybody and he can't coach what's here.

The current administration should be ashamed... They are bleeding the athletic department dry... Why are we paying them a salary? They are completely incompetent. Waingwright isn't the only problem. 3/4 of the staff needs to go, and that includes: the AD, assistants, recruiters, the marketing team...

Also, DePaul will probably NEVER have an on campus arena. It's just not feasible Where would you propose we put it?

I've had enough!! I've been going to Depaul games since I was 5. I am now 36 years old and going to a game now is very depressing, especially after seeing sold out crowds is the early eighties even against cupcakes.. JW is a great man, but cannot continue here. JLP is really starting to get under a lot of people's skin with her continued bs comments. Good luck Depaul!! Thanks for ruining the tradition of winning and commitment. A fan of 30 yrs is gone and Im sure you have have lost many others. You could have this town in the palm of your hands, instead, you are driving fans even futher away.
