Things to do in Houston

Those diligently seeking nightlife here will likely find it, providing you're willing to wait. The burgeoning Washington Ave. district may come highly recommended for its series of bars and dance clubs, but good luck getting in; they're overcrowded when NOT beset by sports-induced herds.
A more compact, college-style bar scene can be found near Rice University on Morningside. Watering holes like the Ginger Man and Willy's Pub are probably comparable to other campus scenes, just a bit fewer in number and waiting lines will likely be long. At least they feature many microbrews.
Sports bars and pizza joints scatter about downtown and elsewhere, but in no particular concentration for the adventurous foot-soldier. The Montrose area offers the metrosexual experience, but streets are narrow and parking sparse. Since Houston mass transit is a bit more than a joke, one needs to figure out transportation; taxis are plentiful,(some pedicabs downtown and on Washington) but you're rolling the dice on honesty and cleanliness.
Towncar limousines offer more comfort, but it appears we'll be heavily booked (I work for R&R Partnership).
