I'm a great Uconn Womens Basketball fan and have been for many years. Of all the teams in the recent past I would love to see this group of players go all the way. Mostly for how they all stepped up after the two major losses to two starters and for Brittany Hunter. It would be great that after all Brittany has been through that she would have this one feather in her cap to remember her career as a basketball player.

I was at the game yesterday and will be back there tomorrow night. To watch Brittany's performance up to the first tv time-out of the second half, made me want to cry. It was all the Huskies needed to get that game out of the 8-12 point range up to the 20's. I hope she finds the strength to start both halves with 5 or 6 minutes tomorrow night.
Separate topic- somehow the committee saw fit to be sure to put NC and Maryland in separate regionals; they made sure Tennessee and LSU were in separate regionals. There were any number of ways they could have done the same with the Big East. The most simple and correct way based on final polls was to switch Rutgers and Texas A&M. One of these years the committee will get it 100%. The got the hard part (getting the top eight teams right) which is 90% of the assignment. Should be a great next two days watching the top eight teams in the country go at it. Whoever wins will have beaten three great teams!

No ! No ! No ! Anyone that votes to start Brittany ahead of Tina is not thinking too much about Brittany's welfare. Tearing down Tina and putting Brittany at risk is not showing any class by Geno. She should only be played as a last resort and then only if all other options are used first. This kid has swown nothing but heart since transferring to UConn and she should be protected from further injury at all costs.

Re: the pervious post, if you read Geno's comment a week ago, It's better that Brittany plays immediately after she warms up rather than cools off on the bench and because her leg stiffens up. There is a good reason why he decided to start her. Great article Jeff. This team and especially Hunter has overcome tremendous adversity and they really deserve to win it all.

I think this move is good for Charles too because its almost impossible for her to be in foul trouble. Charles has 2 more years as a starter anyways.

You just have to smile at the thought of Brittany Hunter out there, playing the way she is. She is an inspiration to everyone who faces adversity in their lives. Go Brittany! Go Huskies!
