The only thing I'm wondering in regards to coaching strategy is why with a team as big as Stanford and given they were controlling the glass on both sides of the court, why were TC minutes so limited, she was able to score down low and at least would have given some much needed height in the low post?

Geno did a great job coaching with the injuries the team had. Tennessee did its part to get to the NC and Geno should have been there. Pat is now 982 wins and 182 lost. Over 600 of her wins are against top 25 teams and that is what makes her record so impressive. Hope to see a rematch soon before Geno retires

Stanford played like the well-coached, well-prepared team that it is. The Huskies did not look well-coached or well- prepared. The bulk of the responsibility for that rests on Geno. And Geno did not look well-prepared...Stanford goes on a run and Geno doesn't call timeouts. C'mon.

To hear the commentators say that "there are no set plays for Maya" is astounding. Structure and direction are essential to maintaining control.

As to the weakness in the guard position...this, too, rests with Geno. His public comments about benching Lauren Dixon was painful to hear and unnecessary. Somethings are always "family" matter and should remain as such. Not letting a starter start is enough to convey a meassage: keeping a starter out of complete games is overkill and counter-productive. The number of players who are placed in Geno's public doghouse are too frequent and seem to suggest that Geno may have an ego and "this will show you who is in charge" problem.

Take a lead from Calipari who insists on focusing on what the Memphis players are doing well. Geno's constant complaints are tiring. Example: when asked by Rebecca Lebo how the team could do better in the second half of the Rutgers game than the 67% field goal performance of the 1st half, Geno replied: shoot 70%. He then went on to note that their defense problems were aggravated by the "shortage" of guards (i.e. Dixon's unavailabilty) didn't help. In that case, play her...unless her offense was of such a grievous nature that, perhaps, she should have been suspended.

I've been a fan of the team since the middle 80's, so this is not an easy comment to make. Let's hope that next year brings a better result.
