Maybe she's just jealous that Geno works harder recruiting than she does. Maybe the girls would rather play for Geno because he has more girls in the WNBA or coaching in the college ranks. Maybe she jealous because the girls after graduation like o come back to Connecticut and visit. Maybe she dosen't like to be called the "evil empire".and can't stand Geno. Maybe she's jealous because Geno gets to do color work on ESPN a lot. Think maybe that;'s the word she's JEALOUS of Geno and UConn

Delle Donne's family was given a sign by a fan and this
according to Pat gave us an undue edge in recruiting?
Man, check under the bed for goblins Pat. I know if i was the number one recruit in America i would choose a school
simply because some stranger gave my mother a paper sign.
And this from a woman who is defending national champ and has the best player in the country . Just get over yourself please. John Wooden you ain't !

Pat Summit must be reading from the Jim Calhoun playbook. News reports that he blocked Holy Cross from playing at Storrs in The Coaches against Cancer Classic because he was afraid of their slow-down style are the same type of control freak behavior exhibited by Pat Summit. Geno and CD run a great program and will be fine without Tennessee.

Pat is just CHICKEN, CHICKEN. She just does not like the guys anymore, her husband or Geno.

Oh, please. Your implication is ridiculous. She may have divorced her husband for whatever reason, but she has a son whom she loves, and who loves her. She ges along well with lots of male coaches in the college ranks. Simply not Geno.

And since I think some bright bulb out there may make an insinuation out of that, I'd better state that I was just saying that she doesn't "hate men" and for anyone to imply otherwise reveals their own bias.

Well, is this a function related to menopausal symtoms? That would better argue than what we have at present. This may actually be more emblematic of the tremendous power (over-reaching) some coaches have developed within their sport.
To think an excellent coach, such as Pat Summit, may be remembered by history not for her wins and losses, but rather for being the selfish-killer of a great rivalry. That would make her the "Queen of the Evil Empire", a well deserved title.

dear jeff jacobs and connecticut fans,

move on and focus on your season. the whining is getting irritating. stop dragging the best women's coach in the history of the game through the coals. she has the right to schedule anyone she wishes. coaches fued all the time and don't schedule each other - Geno wouldn't schedule Rene Portland because she blew off the UConn program a long time ago - it's a lesser example, but you get the idea - when coaches don't agree with another's tactics, principles or they flat out can't stand the person, they have a right to do what's best for the program.

and if your response is, well, "This is THE game" that defined women's basketball and the season, then you're sorely misinformed and then clearly this is a bigger loss for your program than for Tennessee. develop new rivalries, let's get the game hyped in March.

Schedule Duke. Schedule LSU. Schedule Oklahoma. Schedule Maryland. Schedule North Carolina. How about Baylor? Continue hyping the Rutgers rivalry in your conference...

As for Tennessee? Get over it.

---Holy Cross could beat them Remember assistant coach Gorge Blaney went to The Croos and was the basketball coach there for years. Blaney is one reason Calhoun is as sucessful as he is...They are friends and appreciate each other.

Give me a break, why does Calhoon always get dragged into this, he is a great coach and so is Geno, we should be happy and proud to have both, just try to remember what it was like before these two guys. NOTE TO SUMMIT: You took the best game of the year away from the fans and the players.....it's all about you Pat!

Since the Day and Courant stand by their story that Tenn accused DT and Sue Bird of providing Maya Moore a ride I'm sure you have done an FOI request on the information the NCAA sent UConn about the issue. If not you are making up stories without checking the facts that are clearly available. How about the published story quoting Doty saying that the meal with DT and Bird in Geno's office was instrumental in her decision-that is an apriori violation of NCAA rules and should have been self-reported by the UConn compl;iance officer-Was it?

Woody I didnot read anywhere, in any paper that Doty committed because she had a burger in Geno;s office with DT and whomever. She probably enjoyed it but so would I but I wouldn't have committed. Please post the exact place and words where she said those words. PUT UP OR SHUT UP!!

To All UT Fans, this whole ball of sh*t is going to wind up biting Queenie in the rump as far as recruiting goes. G>Johnson is closer to committing to NC now thanks to her majesty's tantrum and I hope she does along with many others.

How many articles are you going to devote to speculations and anonymous sources regarding what was said? Its time to move on, Courant. I agree the cancellation of the series was awful, but life is not fair, so get over it.

I do so wish that you all would learn how to spell her name, since she seems to be on your minds so much.

Dear Ms UT, Queenie has 2 names so I have seperated thwm for u PATSU MMITT. Just like the MMITT forum. When UT fans learn how to spell Geno correctly instead of Gino I will stop ,alling her QUeenie, then maybe not, perhaps she likes it. She certainly acts like it.

Dogman, no more pitiful, pathetic liars than on the UMMITT forum that we have had to deal with for the past few months. Payback is hell and it is going to get worse for the Tenn fans and Queenie. Every game UT plays it will be mentioned.
