so I guess college sports is NOT about the players, as Pat has stated
Pat believes Geno is cheating and she doesn't reward cheaters and the fans are the losers (both UT & UCONN).

The only question should be, if these are violations, and they seem to be, why did Geno feel it was necessary?

If Tenn did the same thing and Geno was made aware of the Tenn violations, what would he have done?

I think Pat is just upset because Geno is more manly than she is.

Did any of you actually read the article or the attached documents? The dates run from July 2006 - November 2006 and was just obtained by ESPN through the Freedom of Information Act. Pat Summitt took her suspicions, etc. through the proper channels...Athletic Dept, SEC, NCAA. This entire time she has refused comment...unlike Geno, who seizes any and every opportunity to take jabs and potshots at Pat and Tennessee. This is old news...just now being released...
Of course, many people are still wondering how Maya Moore's Mom is able to move to CT...job waiting, and is able to afford a $400,000 house...she sure couldn't provide that lifestyle in Georgia! Like I said...JUST wondering.......
openminded247...We are not the least bit worried about recruiting...#1 recruiting class of 5 McDonalds All-Americans and a bonus out of IN...all on the way to Big Orange Country. Go Lady Vols...#9 in '09!
How do you compliment a woman in Tennessee, Nice tooth.

After reading both sides of the story, it sounds like UT called UCONN about the "Supershow" and asked how UCONN was getting around NCAA rules and was told "We'll get back with you", but never did. UT would love to put 20,000+ show off 8 National Championships, but it's against the rules. I bet Candace Parker would love to help Pat recruit, too. I understand UCONN stopped doing it, WHY? Maybe it was illegal?
Gee, too bad Candace Parker is leaving paradise with still a year of elgibility. Maybe she wouldn't want to help Pat recruit. As far as I know UConn still has Midnight Madness with former players in attendance and with free admission and recruits still show up.

It is amazing how one side sees this and the other side sees it another. This is fuel that will make the next UConn/Tenn game the most watched basketball game of all time...men's or women's!! There are plenty of great women coming up the ranks...which coach can develop that talent will come out victorious. When your program is discussed at the SEC Conference coaches meetings then something is up...sounds like Tenn isn't the only school that has supplied information to the NCAA. I am wondering when all this came out that UConn didn't come out and spell out what it is accused of. In the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter who did what or who said what...This will intensify the recruiting battles for the cream of the crop...only time will tell. Next year UConn should be far superior to Tenn...and if they are not then it will be time to re-evaluate the UConn program.

Pat just can't stand sharing the limelight. Before Geno came, women's college basketball was all about her. She is still whining after her team won the national championhsip. UCONN will be much better off not playing the Lady Vols.
you're correct, they will have another win after signing to play podunk U.

You people are truly, and totally freaking in dreamland. Maya Moore or not, your 2007-8 team(not coach) was majorly boring, but then, that's what happens with "swiss cheese scheduling". However, your sandwich will become increasingly harder to chew as the Big East continues to blossom. Team confidence is a combination of growth, coaching, and been-there-done-that. It's true: Geno does know, but he's not telling it all. I'll close by saying this: my second most favorite sports moment was looking upon the stunned and frustrated faces as Stanford hammered you. Only second to the dazed and confused look on the face of Mike Tyson when Buster Douglas bounced his full-of-himself head on the canvas. Too much confidence, and not enough defense.

Copebros so if Pat Summitt sold you the Brooklyn bridge you would buy that too? Why are you - the fans - at TN "paying" for this? You're that supportive of your coach when she has taken away a great basketball rivalry from your women's team? Don't you think its hurting your team too? This is supposed to be about the players - Pat and Geno are my last concern.
