A good choice, the UCONN players will achieve so much more if they can learn to play with the passion and desire that Shea did. I only hope that Shea leaves the gallons of eye makeup she's been wearing in Pittsburgh.

No surprise here. Shea was a great player and will fit perfectly as Tonya's replacement.

Seems to me that Tonya is the only smart one in this article.

Considering how long ago Tonya left it is awfully funny how UCONN athletics don't seem to have to follow state hiring practices when it comes to fairness in open searches. I am sure there is some clause allowing them to simply hand pick replacements and appoint and hire people at will.

Welcome Shea! I hope this lead to the replacement of Geno. As many of us know, he can produce the W's....but when it comes to "class" and a representing UCONN...he falls short. The program is already established and a coach like Shea would recruit just as well....if not better.

I'm happy Shea is coming back to be assistant coach. I hope she can pass on her intensity of play to these new players. Maybe EDD will come back now? We'll miss Tonya, but I know the program will only improve with Shea.
