I can't wait to see Ketia in a SUN uniform. Love what Coach T says about her backing up Lindsay. By the end of the season, she'll be an integral part of the game plans!

Well Hello John,

Does your writing of this article on the CT Sun mean you are going to be it's Htfd Courant reporter for the season? In a previous comment I asked you if you might be and I think I now have the answer!

I look forward to the start of the WNBA season, even more than ever, now that I know you are going to be assigned ro reporting for my team! You will discover, as I did, that Coach Thibault is a very knowledgeable and warm coach who knows how to select and get the most effort from his players - a team for the first time entirely selected by Coach and Chris Sienko!

Are you ready to enjoy the ride with us?

I understand what Sienko is saying but I bet a pretty respectable WNBA team could be put together by signing a lot of former UConn players. Why not let them continue playing for Conn.where their fan base is still here long after they graduate. That is unless it's against WNBA rules somehow and Thibault and company don't want to hear any complaining from other teams.

This is an interesting move the Sun have done this year, they have gone to speed to keep up with other teams. Which makes sense with a 24 second shot clock. With Swanier speed they will be able to speed and shoot more often.... Whalen is a good guard but has no speed, I see Ketia picking up playing time once she gets the system under control, she has a sweet three point shot that she has develop as of late.
All in all it will be great to see the Sun play. Chemistry is everything!

It's almost an insult that Chris Sienko is apologizing for having UCONN players on the roster. One does not have to be EITHER a UCONN fan or a Sun fan since the seasons don't conflict. Connecticut is loyal to it's Huskies and I, as a fan of both, am thrilled to see more UCONN players; and I think that as the season goes along it will reflect in increased attendance. If you don't see a "spike" in sales automatically, maybe it's the economy. Season tickets aren't cheap and gas is a problem. We have to save money all year long to pay for gas back and forth from Danbury (by the way, contrary to popular belief we have not ceceded from the state of Connecticut and become an annex of New York). I don't want to feel like I'm being "disloyal" to the Sun when I cheer for ANY previous UCONN player as they come into our house. We appreciate their accomplishments while they were at UCONN as well as their contributions to the WNBA and we want to acknowledge that. Once the game gets underway, it's just that .. a game and we will be cheering for the Sun every time. We have been season ticket holders since the first year and are thrilled by the UCONN additions but love all of the players, the Sun IS our WNBA team! I think it only proved how much the "home town connection" means to a team when Katie Douglas wanted to "go home" and Indiana was thrilled to have her since I'm sure it will increase their attendance too. All Sun fans may not be UCONN fans, but we notice that whenever Phoenix and Seattle are "in the house", it's usually a sell out. Maybe when Seattle and the Sun play this year, it won't be a bad idea to hype it with the "history making 4 first round draft picks" will be in one place for the first time since they graduated. If everyone plays with as much heart as Lindsay Whalen, it doesn't matter if they are UCONN alumni or not .. they're just fun to watch!
