I find Geno tremendously entertaining. His postgame press conferences should be on pay-per-view.

A quote from Gino is a better way to start the day than reading the comics. He has a great and not subtle way of making his point and he makes me laugh.

Geno is a trade mark unto himself, and quite funny somme times as well but..., he is quite right, in witch if we had played any upper ranked team with the performence of last night we may have lost the game.....BUT WE DID NOT!(props to Gardler for her hustle !!!

GO HUSKIES !!!!!!!!!!

Geno's post-game comments after a bad game are priceless! When he retires from coaching he should be a stand-up comic.

Gino's comments should be penned in a book. He has a brillant way of communicating his displeasure and his players DO respond in subsequent games. I would not want to be the coach that plays UCONN next. No way!

I was at the game last night. If UConn plays like that against Rutgers or any other top ranked team, they'll be trounced. On the whole, it was not a fun game to watch.

I'd certainly rather watch Geno and some post-game coverage rather than the endless begging for money that cptv engages in before, during, and after the games. That act is very tired, and cptv should re-assess its model for fundraising during the games.

You hit an active nerve. I am grateful CPTV advances woman's basketball while telecasting many of Uconn's game. I truly wish them well but you are correct with the begging for donations routine. Equally, Uconn is carried (less often) by other networks as a result of CPTV. Something needs doing.
The women did look flat (save for a few). They did what they had to (and not much more) to win. The danger comes when you hit the switch in the future and nothing happens. Better teams will bury you. Keep going Huskies.

Why are we all bemused/amused by Geno and the team insulting USF? I understand - we played poorly for our standards - but to dwell on it ad nauseum is not appropriate and sends the wrong message to our young athletes. "You stink so badly that we crushed you even when we REALLY stunk...." Have we become that conceited and callous? I thought we had more class.

Even I have a bad day---move on--Gardler should see more time. That kid can play and wants to play.

It's really amazing that we forget that these young women are still kids. As difficult as it may be to play for Geno and as good as they are
you can never change the fact that at 18, 19, 20 and 21 years olds, they flake. They are not pros, yet we expect them to be.

Yes, they play for an elite coach and an elite program and most of the time they perform but sometimes they don't.

Some people always expect perfection, I think Geno expects that they play to their capabilities which is why he benched Tina.

No team goes through a season without having a bad game. What is most important to the development of this team is to see how they react in practice and their next game.

Their maturity as a team will depend on being able to learn from the mistakes and get better.

It's what we do as we grow as people.

I'd endure a few (dozen) fund-raising pitches for the chance to watch the Huskies play on TV. All I get are the national games. I'd love to see more.

These are some good comments and some not so good. I agree with Jude above..if they play that way against Rutgers, LSU, or Pitt, they could lose. He has every right to be upset when Maya and Tina go from 10+ rebounds/game to only a few; rebounding is about desire and effort whoch is why he praised Gardler. Great players should not have lapses like that regardless of their age. Where would we be w/o CPTV? But I agree, there should be a more productive approach to fund raising than outright begging! I either hit the mute button or change channels..and I'll bet I'm not alone!

",,,maybe I'm not playing the right guys. Maybe I'm not s smart as I thought I was." This says it all. Geno does not and is not starting the "right guys" and is not as smart as he thinks he is. He is arrogant and lucky to have excellent players, who are fine people playing for him. If he was coaching at Villanova with the same players as Harry Perreta, how many games would he have won? How many championships would he have won?

Let us see, won 20 games of this early season Uconn Women have. Geno's pal Harry would love to win 20 games any year and Harry is a very good coach. 14 of the 16 Big east teams would love to have won 20 games . Many would take those 20 and not be displeased to lose the rest. 20 games is great in anyone's season--well, almost anyone. NOT GENO....

UConn was louzy, they have been dropping further and further away from the crisp, tough defensive team they had been. What's wrong??? Long season, lots of road trips and people are catching on how to attack UCONN.

Bump Tina, and crash the boards, slap at any ball being passed, pull the ball away from the uconn bigs. This causes turnovers, loss of offensive boards, and less fast breaks.. There you are---this is how you beat UConn--and Geno knows it and has seen it.

On top of all that the Refs are calling more and more WALKS..even when they don't happen..

1. Geno wouldn't recruit most of the players Harry has.. and Geno is a great recruiter. Geno is Arrogant and Lucky--no doubt. But his luck comes from being exceptionally good at his job. I've hated Geno's lack of modesty, and his overbearing arrogance--and i've questioned many of his decisions, but in most case he is right. He once scolded me with you need to come to the practices before you make your stupid comments...paraphrased. Geno maynot be the best there is--but I wouldn't trade him for any other coach men or women's.

CPTV begging?? Remember, CPtV is NOT commercial and has NO sponsors--or so they say--who are the corporate partners, that pay for air time, other than SPONSORS. So the begging is just the method these experiened crafters of money merchants use to drag dollars from the unsuspecting public.

With the corporate partners (sponsors) Channel 3 or 8 could broadcast UConn women with the 4 commercial per hour and never beg once. CPTV dosen't realize we've caught on to their tactits.

Uconn should change affiliation with CPtV and get ESPN and go national.
The out of staters would love this as would all their other fans..

CPTV was not broadcasting you would not see the Games! Check around no networks broadcast Womens Basketball (qty cptv does)! Not even Tennessee! There are also not as many comercials as on regulat TV! So listen to the begging and stop complaining! When Cptv stops broadcasting you all will be the loudest complainers! So let us supporters keep giving the money and ya 'all acn keep watching for free!
