What a crap article. You only get to rant on the
pundits if you can make better predictions than they do.
The typical "Oh, this guy wasn't drafted!" declaration is
predictable.Do people actually pay for this drivel?I hope not!

You go ahead and take your chances banking the franchise's future on a QB from BFU, I'll stick with the draft and we'll see who does better.

The bears have already stuck with the draft and it got them quarterbacks like McNown and Grossman.

I'd say signing an undrafted kid from "BFU" can't be any worse than those two clowns. Hell, that should be the introductory phrase for nearly all Bears quarterbacks...
"Hey kids, who's your favorite clown?"

Give the kids a chance, what have we got to lose at this point - Grossman?

Another year of hearing the last good QB for the Bears was Sid Luckman .I feel the QB situation was a must ,but here we go again with Grossman .Give the ball to Kyle and leave him alone or get rid of him .

These guys don't have a chance to make it because Lovey is a stubborn guy who will live and die with an underperforming player for 2 or 3 weeks in a row because he doesn't want to admit he made a mistake until it becomes so glaring. e.g. Benson, Archuleta, Grossman... ad nauseum.

31 teams passed up Tom Brady 5 times too..... Can we blame the bears for that one as well?

Let the lauding of the third-string QB begin. We do this every effin' year here. Play Griese! Play Dave Kreig! Play Mike Tomzack! Play P-T Willis! Play Flutie! Yes, they all played and they all were wonderfully mediocre and even won a few games - who cares. How about ignoring the position altogether since that's what this franchise seems to do on a yearly basis. It's almost as if this position doesn't exist on the Bears, so why not fill it with a bunch of nobodies from nowhere?

Agreed, Lovie keeps spouting off how the Bears are a running team, and the endless parade of sub par quarterbacks the team messes around with. The Bears need to go with the old wishbone offense and give up on passing all together. At least that would cut down on all the quarterback turnovers.

Your anger is misguided. Jerry Angelo is in charge of Personnel. He decides who is on the team and who gets paid what. Lovie just coaches them. Benson and Grossman are forced on us because Angelo doesn't want to face the fact he cannot draft or evaluate offensive talent. The organization fields a team based on who gets paid what and when they were selected instead of who performs the best on game day.

Until the Bears are run by real football people instead of the descendants of real football people who only care about money... we will be mediocre.

I wish everyone would use this logic when they go into panic mode about the Bears not drafting one of the "sure thing" quarterbacks.

The real question is, how much will the Bears be raising ticket prices this year? What a great business to be in; get paid big no matter how shoddy the product is.

I think the point was that just because you are picked high in the draft, doesn't mean you are going to be good. Just like if your not picked in the draft, doesn't mean you are going tobe bad. Let's face it, the Bears have wasted alot of time and energy on top offensive players to have them do nothing. There's nothing wrong with pringin g in a couple of unsung gunslingers and see what they can do.

The painful thing is that the bears did not even try to address the quarterback situation. And Grossman tried the free agent market, there were NO takers. Certainly the rest of the league can recognize Grossman's lack of talant and high turnover rate. No team wants a QB consistantly turning over the ball 3 & 4 times a game. Oh remember those 4 good games grossman had early in 2006, until the entire league realized he falls apart under pressure.

Keep talking about Grossman's great arm and 10 cent head as the bears go on to another sub-500 season.

Rex was signed before free agency started or did you forget. Also he played in nine other victorious games. Oh yeah and a conference championship. And by the way somewhere around 60 or more QBs did not play in the Super Bowl but he did.
