And I hope that on that 7/20 court date, the judge dismisses the charges and tells the people at the university to grow a spine. If that's all he said--asking as rhetorical question about what would drive anyone to the sort of madness seen at Virginia Tech--those students seriously need a reality check. They also need to face some sort of school sanction for wasting everyone's time because they obviously haven't developed emotionally enough to be in a university setting.

No kidding! I'm guessing the comment was tongue in cheek made in the wake of a tragedy thus being blown way out of proportion by over zealous classmates anxious to save the day. Granted, we weren't sitting next to the guy when he made the comment, nor are we privy to his behaviors on a daily basis so we don't really know the 'energy' with which the comment was made.
However...if he was a nut job (as was the guy at VA Tech), this information would have been plastered all over the media as part of 'the news'.
It's ridiculous that this went as far as it did.

Why did they let him back on campus?? They should have thrown him off for GOOD. Then, maybe the loser will know better at the next campus that he decides to go to??

Universities are supposed to be some of the last quintessential freedom of speech places in this country. Now many universities have zoned off certain parts of the university for free speech, not including classrooms. It's disappointing that this man said some of the things he did, however, it should have been his right to say those things. I fear for the future of our great republic; where's the Madisons, Franklins, Washingtons, and Lincolns when you need them?

These left leaning universities push freedom of speech and then this kid speaks his mind only to be suspended. Sounds like they need to decide whether freedom of speech is free or not before suspending him. CU is a joke especially considering they still have that a$$clown Churchill around. Until CU grows some gonads and gets rid of him nothing will change for the better.

Good. I hope they drop the charges. Everyone has become so sensitive to talking about anything. Some people feel that in the wake of a tragedy the best thing to do is talk about it. Maybe this was his way of coping. He was trying to diffuse the situation, which goes to show that he wasn't meaning any harm by making the statement that he did. Those kids who went and complained to the cops about what he said just wasted our tax dollars. PS-I'm betting on Ward Churchill getting fired.

And what school did -YOU- receive your degree from (if applicable)? I want to know where not to send my kids or my sister's kids.

Daily Horoscope for December 8

Pisces

You're capable of making some very constructive and important decisions today, particularly where your relations with certain people are concerned. If you're fed up with the way someone has been treating you, you might now decide that the worm is about to turn and you're going to be much firmer about what you're prepared to put up with and what you won't tolerate.
