Congrats to the Bulldogs. I like the way you guys are playing right now. Some nights the offense is clicking, some nights the defense is grinding out the W. You have proven you can win the close conference road games and you take care of home court. Good luck the rest of the way. I love fundamentally-sound team basketball.

I wasn't able to see the game today. Why wasn't Jukes playing? Someone with knowledge, please explain. I do not understand why he isn't playing 15 minutes every game. What is going on?

Can't you shake somebody loose to cover a top 10 team in your own city? Or did he lose his phone card?

Jukes has talent and skill, but he just doens't have the offense and defense down mentally, yet. When he's out on the court, you can tell he's having to think about what to do before doing it and that often leaves him out of place on both ends of the floor. I'm confident he'll get it down, he's already showing signs. Next year will be his year to shine, not this year.

BTW, don't get offended by anything Cru Jones or Bucky Badger post. They have nothing better to do than hate on the best team in the state.

Defense rules a game and it means a win against one of the two that beat them this year. Drew Streicher and Matt Howard played great D inside as di Julian, Mike and AJ out side. Thursday night the bench played great and gave the starters some much needed rest which they used as energy on defense. It matters not who scores, as long as you score more than the other guy. Bucky Badger, go bother someone who cares about your snide remarks. Your jealousy of the Bulldog program is amazing. Purdue is the ONLY Big Ten team who coud compete in the Horizon League this year and they would have to play pretty good. Yes, I know you will get 4 or 5 teams in the tourney in 2008, but let's see how many are left after two rounds. Reputation will get you in but it won's keep you there as this year the so called mid-majors will surprise a lot of people.

When will you play someone?
Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot, Cleaveland State is a somebody. They beat iu. Once. 20 years ago.
I guess I shouldn't take the bait and respond, but ... oh, well. I can't resist. In the past two seasons, Butler has played and beaten: IU, Purdue, Notre Dame, Gonzaga, Tennessee, Texas Tech, Virginia Tech, Florida State, Michigan, Ohio State, Southern Illinois ... what more could anyon want? They play a very respectable non-conference schedule, and in recent years, they haven't lost any non-conference games that I can remember. They schedule top teams. And they beat them. They play #14 Drake on Saturday, as well.

As for the Horizon League, Butler can't control how good or bad those teams are. Just like IU and Purdue can't control how good or bad the Big Ten is (with bad teams like Iowa and Northwestern and Penn State on the schedule repeatedly). I think league games are gonna be tough, though, no matter what, cause the teams know each other's styles, the rivalries are in place, and when Butler goes on the road, they've drawn record crowds at Horizon schools this year. So, it's tough. And the Dogs take care of things at home, so ... that's what successful teams do.

I don't see anyone slamming on Memphis for being the unanimous #1 in the country when Memphis plays in an extremely weak conference. Arguably a conference that's weaker than the Horizon. So, why slam on Butler? If you're going to take aim at them, take aim at Memphis first.

Butler's 24-2.

They win their final four games and win the Horizon League tourney, they could finish, potentially, 30-2.

Don't know how anyone can question the validity of their success. I think it's awesome. And it's a great time to be a Butler fan. Hopefully, they make a return trip to the Sweet Sixteen or beyond!

Go Bulldogs!

Correction to my earlier post. They did lost one non-conference game the past season or two. They lost to SIU last year. But beat them on the road this year. But Butler's had a very impressive run these past few years. And I know we'll probably have a drop-off next year, perhaps, but ... maybe not. Hopefully, this success can be maintained to some degree.

Let all the jealous haters come in here post their asinine comments about not beating anyone or that the Horizon League is weak. There's one word that they in no way, shape nor form can argue with....SCOREBOARD. Keep on rollin' BU...

Bucky, what is your problem? If it's the rankings, let it go! Sometimes teams ranked #1 in February don't even get out the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament. Things can change. Wisconsin also played and beat Horizon League teams Valpo, UW-GB and UM-M this year. Is that OK?
By the way, long time Wisconsin band director Mike Leckrone received his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from Butler University.
Treat yourself to a game at Hinkle sometime.

Idiots like this get their jollies by trying to get a response- then they come back to see if anyone responded. Well, you got what you wanted. You are a dumb%*@ss cheesehead.
When he comes back he can choke on this: 24-2.

David Woods' game coverage will be in Sunday's Star. You should concentrate on getting the lead out.
