it happens...Butler will bounce back

Watched the game on HLN.com ...Graves and Green couldn't hit the broad side of a barn most of the night. Without Matt Howard and Campbell, this would not have been close.
Come on Dawgs...you're better than this. You better expet to see EVERYONE'S best when they play you. That's the pricc of the fame you've created. |

Butler pwned!!!! Butler fans please stop talking about how great your program is.

This might sound very pompous and arrogant given we only lost 2 games so far, but I'm starting to get concernedw witht the way we are playing. I know that we don't want to peak in mid-January, but lately we have been winning without playing to our full potential and I feel we might have taken a step backwards since Alaska. I hope and think we will be much better in mid-February and everything will be fine come March. However, there is a BIG, BIG difference between a #3 and #5 seed.

I watched this game on the Horizon League Network. Butler seemed a step slow in this game as they were out hustled. It seemed that Cleveland St. got all of the loose balls. Butler is a fine team but certainly not a top 20 caliber at the moment. They were earlier in the year when Graves was playing well, but over the past 6-8 games he has played very poorly. Is there something wrong with him physically? If his game doesn't get back on track, Butler is headed for 5 or 6 more road losses.

it happens--the season's not over

Anyone who uses "owned" (or worse yet, "pwned") loses all credibility whatsoever.
Butler does rely way too much on outside jumpshots. This is evident every time they shoot below 40%. Its always amazing how in recent years they can take down most 'high-major' programs in their OOC schedule, but always get tripped up by some Horizon scrubbs. Bad losses, in the eyes of the tourney selection folks. |
No question about it. I agree 100% with your assessment. Butler had a chance to get a 3 seed which keeps them away from a #1 until the elite 8. I think they just blew that chance. There is along way to go yet but I think they would have had to run the table to get a 3. Looks like a 5 or worse now an another sweet 16 run at best. Still a great accomplishment if they can get there. Let's see if they bounce back form such a sub par performance. |
Are you on the team? |

Still top 20 after losing to Clevaland State? Butler's other loss was to Wright State who is now 3-4 in HLC play. Hmmmm. Earlier today I was reading how Butler was nearly as good as Duke since Florida State gave Duke a good game. Gotta keep some perspective on all of this. I just hope this isn't 2002 all over again.
After tonight I'd just wait and see what happens after the HLC tournament is over. No sense in counting your chickens before they've hatched. |
I hope Green and Graves don't have to look back someday while in a nursing home and wish, "I sure wish I would have had courage enough to be laser focused, and played well consistently during my senior year."
This is their last shot.........they're not improving........not much wiggle room left.......... Stevens better figure out how to get things back on track - quickly. |
AJ is just not playing well. What has happened to his shooting? I believe he is now about 2 for 30 something on 3's in conference play. Needless to say, Butler is ordinary at best if AJ isn't the AJ of the last 2-3 years.
Butler is rated #12....#13 lost by 20 today,#14 lost by 20 today,#21 lost by 7. I think Butler is still a safe Top 20 team. Go back to rooting for your Hoosiers...they need your help given they are losing right now. |
Hey Mark, I mean Royal Tannenbaum, I mean Lets Go Hoosiers....you're not fooling anyone. |
Can you say "16-2"? |
Well, the best team in Indiana is now official and it isn't the Bulldogs. While I really enjoy and respect what Butler is doing and hope they make Indy proud with a nice run into March, the Dogs have slipped against some iffy teams in their conference that as a national power they should have locked up.
Nice gritty, dirty, greasy, tough to watch game for the Hoosiers. That is the road in the Big Ten for ya... Purdue fans please at least mention 1 positive about a road win among the dozens of negatives you will surely throw our way. Good luck to the Bulldogs and Hoosiers for the rest of the way!!! |
No dude I am Lets Go Hoosiers. My posts are long and decently informative. Its hard to mix up with any other random person. No one uses my name but me anyway. What are you if not original you know? I already said my piece, so I will let this stand until tomorrow morning. |

Can the poodles win on the road in their conference, guess not. I have an idea, watch the hoosiers play road games in the big ten. You may be familiar with saying, play basketball the right way, also you may want to play with some heart.

Two conference losses already is tough to take. They cannot afford another conference loss. If they don't win the regular season they have to win the HL tournament or it could be an NIT bid! ONe or the other or thay don't go dancing. Where is Cinderalla's slipper?
