Tony Pike threw for a career-high 362 yards and three touchdowns, and Cincinnati used its high-speed, no-huddle offense to hurry past Rutgers 47-15 yesterday in Piscataway, N.J. The defending Big East champion Bearcats got a jump on the 2009 race by improving to 4-0 against Rutgers since joining the league.

I believe if Pike stays healthy he will be a first round draft pick. If he doesnt he would be an absolute steal for whoever drafted him. He has the size. He has the arm strength. The most impressive thing about him is his footwork and ability to move in the pocket to create throwning lanes. Imagine him throwning to recievers of the likes of A.J. Green, Dez Bryant, J Jones, or any of the top recievers in the game. I'm not tring to take away from Gilyard, Woods, and Binn. They have done what is needed and that as a fan is all you can ask for. But imagine what Pike's numbers would be if they had some top of the line recruits. A top back who the defense has to respect and a pro prospect line with a top of the line reciever to go with Gilyard and Woods. Wow! I was a quarterback in High School and I really take notice at how he creates more time for his reciever to find space in the zone coverage or just flat buy time for them to get open. I would love for the bengals to take him in the draft. 3rd round if he was there what a blessing. 2nd round same thing unless someone drops at a absolute need position. If we didnt have Carson who looks like his elbow might not be as bad as I though it was. Hell I feared the worse knowing the bengals luck over the years. Plus I pitched in the minors and my elbow ended my career. The problem is playing threw will make you over compensate and there goes the shoulder. Of course its a different motion but what I did notice last year was a lot of balls Carson was throwning were sailing which indicates elbow and arm problems. drop the elbow because of fear or pain thats what you get. Plus Tommy John eventually. But Carson looks like he had the right docs and traing staff. Plus the luctury of job security so he was hopefully able to rehab at the right pace and not rushed or have a feling of having to rush witch thank goodness for that. But still Pike would be a steal because I believe he has bro bowl ability in the long run. Back Carson up for a couple a years and what a decision you could have. Start over like Green Bay or trade and not miss a step.
