is it just me or is Mick Cronin really a vile and loathsome little punk. I was amazed there were no T's on this guy and the phony smile he threw at Calhoun when they shook hands after it was over was so disgusting.

Any road win in the BE is a good win.
That said, without a monster game from AJ on Sat., this game could have gone the other way. Seeing Thabeet and Edwards in foul trouble early exposed the lack of depth on the front line. That zone defense UCONN played at the end of the 1st half was lousy. Cinn. got good shots every time and scored easily.
Good to see Craig Austrie step up and contribute.
Very good defense on the leading scorer from Cinn by Dyson and others.

As someone who lives in Cincinnati, Cronin's an okay guy. He's in a rebuilding program in a city that wants excellence, but has a set of lousy teams (Bengals, Reds), so he gets a lot of crap. So his frustration is understandable.

We were at the game, and it was clear that the Bearcats were outworking the Huskies most of the time, and got worn out by the end. Our boys still don't quite get the team concept. Too much driving to the basket without a plan, too much out of control play. Dyson does such great things on defense and them throws those opportunities away on the other end due to poor judgement. Too much wandering Thabeet (Cinci fans around us were commenting on that...actually, the word they used was "overrated", because they don't seem to think much of their own big man - a freshman - who played pretty well against Thabeet). A hostile environment, as it was last year...but the guys did better overall.
As an aside, my kids got a bunch of autographs after the game: Adrien, Price and Coach were very nice to them (especially Adrien), which made a great experience for the kids. For me, it was nice to see gracious off-court behavior.

all true..
thank goodness mandeldove does not see more action -- he looked completely lost. he's nothing more than an extra 5 fouls for uconn! I would have thought by now he'd have developed some sort of game!! edwards has grown much more in the same time frame

Thank you for the kind words about the UCONN players. Too often all we hear is the negative (whether true or imagined) about our student athletes.

Hahahahaha 7 posts after a big UConn win. If UConn would have went into Cinci and lost there would be 60+ posts. The UConn bashers are jealous low-life losers who live insignificant lives.

I thought Little Mickey Cronin needed a classic "you took THAT shot?!?!" glare from General Jim. Sure, that stare is reserved for refs and players, but the dude was hopping around and stomping - on the court - like a little leprechaun who lost his pot of gold...
