James Gist scored 25 points and hit the clinching free throw with 5.6 seconds left as Maryland avoided a stunning collapse by holding off Charlotte 76-72 today.

Wow....this article reads like the Terps lost the game. Is this some kind of plan with the Sun for all the staff writers to denigrate the "home" team whenever possible?

Charlotte has a good squad and is capable of scoring in bunches, which they did after a pretty lame first half. The Terps held them off and did what they had to do to WIN the game.

What is with you people at the Sun? Are you programmed to diss EVERY team you report on?

Man, I'm glad I cancelled my subscription years ago. I now just read the internet articles for the bewildering amusement of how negative the reporting is for all of the teams I follow.

since the Sun won't allow us to comment on Gregory Kane's fine article I'll have to post my comment here. You know what happens to dear that are in the wrong place at the wrong time? They get splattered accross the road, or a bullet in their head. That's what will eventually happen to these poor misguided chldren of the city. then their lawyers can blame the other guy, of course this time it will most likely be a black thug with a stolen gun.

My original post was based on another article by a different writer. Don Markus was NOT the author of the first "report" that came out about the Maryland game.
