Miners get hooked

There are 10 comments on the El Paso Times story from Sep 6, 2008, titled Miners get hooked. In it, El Paso Times reports that:

Yes, Texas is better than Buffalo. UTEP, too. The good news, though, in Texas' expected 42-13 victory in the Sun Bowl, is that despite the lopsided score, the Miners also were vastly better than they were ...

Great, everything went as expected, including UTEP not being able to score any points. Two games and only 30 points scored thus far. Maybe it is time that Coach Price face the fact that family is not always the answer. His son Aaron as Offensive Coordinator is the not same as his son Eric. Plays are not being made and franklly, some of the plays called were mind boggling. Against an inexperienced secondary (5 freshmen) and only 13 points, what gives?

I would have to agree the security and staff presence was great. Most were curtious and helpful. No problems during tailgating, however UTEP should relax their rules to reflect their intented show of spirit. Only complaint was all the standing, which is fine for the younger folk, but it didn't let us older exes see much. Although this was quickly resolved with the mounting score against UTEP, it would have been nice to see the 1st qtr. But over all enjoyed it.

Hey Bloomquist, just a quick shout-out to your fans, your city, and your team. Job well done. We came up from Austin on Friday afternoon wearing all of our Longhorn regalia and everyone was super nice, congenial, and welcomed us to El Paso. I thought the pre-game festivities and atmosphere was very "bowl-like" and even turned out to be a a pretty exciting game. Once again, cudos to UTEP and the Miners and all of us from the Longhorn Nation wish your team the very best for the remaining season.

What made any one in El Paso belief that that UTEP could go up against #10 ranked Texas. UTEP got 13 sympathetic votes from a power house team that was playing to pick up a few bucks to their already Alumi backed and full coffers. Mike Price hasn't delivered and it is not entirely his fault, until he gets the money needed to recruit top talent UTEP will always be looked at as the "Jurano Futbol" team on the border. Where are all your high dollar Alumni? Stop letting all the people from Mexico get a free education and direct some money to your sports team. UTEP has some potential but until all the leeches from Mexico stop sucking it dry you will never compete at a UT Texas level. What a joke UTEP against UT.

i would like to thank all of el paso for making all of us TEXAS fans welcome, MOST were very friendly and even welcomed us to your fine city. this was my first trip to el paso for a football game. you have a class act going on, sure once the game started it was down to business, as it should be and DANG ya'll were LOUD! My only two complaints......get some air in those bathrooms!!! i bet i lost 10 pounds waiting in line haha and i really hate to say it, but the two guys sitting next to me, were obviously pretty drunk and getting more obnoxious as the game went on, which is a shame. i tried to not let them bother me, but anyone around where i was sitting was getting tired of them (section 8 row 12) the two guys sitting next to me were TEXAS fans as well and very nice. Overall i really enjoyed my trip to el paso and will come again. Thanks for your hospitality and good luck with the rest of your season. HOOK EM!!!
