Wow, the fishing in Illinois sux, and they want tournaments for high schoolers? I hope the tournaments are for bottom feeders (carp, bullheads...etc.) because that's all there is in Northern Illinois. I see poor Illinois fisherman bragging about catching a couple of stunted bass after hours of fishing on some bulletin boards. The forest preserve lakes are raped by bucket people and illegals without any enforcement of the law by DNR. I like the kids having a chance to have fun fishing, but do it in Wisconsin where they have a chance of actually catching something.

I think the IHSA can choose where they could sanction Bass fishing tournaments. Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota (of course during summer months or holidays). It would be expensive, but so is Hockey and Golf. It's a 3 hour drive to the Mississippi River on the Illinois/Iowa border (absloute prime Bass waters). Wisconsin prime fishing waters are from a 90 minute to a 2 hour drive from Chicago. Fishing for Bass in Illinois public waterways is as challenging as it can get. I wouldn't want the kids disappointed by fishing here. Go fishing where the fish are. I have 30 years of fishing experience, own a fishing boat, and have caught more Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass this year than most people have caught in an entire lifetime.

B.T.W. the Bass fishing clubs in Northern Illinois fish in Wisconsin and the Mississippi River (Illinois/Iowa border). The people trying to organize the tournaments for the kids are asking local clubs for help/resources Herb. The clubs won't be fishing in Illinois Herb.

Daily Horoscope for May 24

Aquarius

In complete contrast to yesterday, you have your head screwed on firmly today. Yet you won't be boringly sensible or drearily practical, so there's no danger of you having turned into a dry old stick overnight. It's a good day for keeping track of important details and processes, such as confirming a forthcoming appointment or filling in a form and then making a copy of it before sending it off.
