Vasquez, the most overrated ballplayer on Maryland. Costs us many games. Gary will have no excuses next year with the top recruits coming in.

Embarrassing, now we don't even win opening round games. Does anyone remember when we won 6 or 7 straight first round games in the ACC tourney? Now we can't even win one game, is that 4 years in a row we lost in the first round? As MD sports fans we really have a lot to be proud of, the O's are stuck in the worst losing period in their history, the Ravens are old; capped out and haven't won a playoff game since 2001; now the Men's BB team is a national joke. Move on Gary, you can spend more time chasing co-eds. 3 out of 4 years in the Nobody is interested tournament....not good enough

who is responsible? the coach. he has failed the last 4 years. he should be fired. its time for a change. with the great high school b-ball in the balt-wash area do you really think we have to go to venzeula for a guard?

3 NIT appearances in 4 years. Enough is enough. Two years in a row the national player of the year has come out of MD, and Gary didn't get either of them. The talent in the MD-DC-VA area is some of the best in the country. Gary can't get any of the big time talent in the area. Gary has never been able to recruit, but now it looks like he can't coach either.

My point has been made. I won't comment anymore about THE UNIVERSITY OF MEN'S BASKETBALL PROGRAM. Have a good spring and summer.

Enough is enough!!!! When is this coaching staff going to be held accounable. Ever since winning the national championship, each Maryland team snce then has been the same. The is no direction, they are seemingly never on the same page with each other. The turnovers are ridiculous, we've been averaging like 20 turnovers a game for years - when is it going to stop. When are Gary's players going to understand how important execution and concentration are for any team? I didn't even watch the second half but I knew the result this morning before I even saw the final. I don't want to rip any players because they are all young men and don't deserve it. But this coaching staff levaes a lot to be desired. I could name a long list of coaches that could do more with this talent simply by making them focus better. There are times where we turn the ball over 4-5 possessions in a row - THAT'S UNACCEPTABLE!!!! After 7 years of this BS, I blame coaching. If the head coach can't get his players to focus for 40 minutes (with this team, I'd settle for 30) than it is his fault!!!

And one more thing, I'm tired of hearing we're young. Other teams are young too and they are gonna make the tournament and are palying well.

Gary Williams needs to be fired RIGHT NOW!

get some actual talent in here please, not a bunch of soft lanky jump shooters who can't shoot.

the best shooter on this team is the scariest little prick i've ever seen in college bball, they all had about 7 turnovers a piece and Gary just sits back and grabs his head instead of teaching these morons how to play fundamental bball.

No one responds to the sweaty williams coaching no more, what more proof do you want.

The problem is you all are fair weather fans. When the terps won the NCAA championship Gary was awesome, and when we had a great team for years in a row he was awesome but as soon as a team hits a rough spot you want to FIRE him. Thats everyone's answer when a team has a rough year around here. It was Billick before, now its Gary. You all are a joke

Let's not over react here. Firing him is not the right move, Yow should suggest that he resign and be given a permanent seat next to Left at Comcast. If he refuses, then we FIRE HIM.

Gary is leading this team right back to where it was when he got here.

Can Brenda coach the mens and womens teams? She stil has the fire that Gary had and lost.

Youth is no excuse. BC is just as young and they took 2-3 from us. Stop making excuses for Gary, he just can't make it happen.

Leave with your dignity Gary, leave as a beloved figure in Terps history. Don't hold on too long and ruin your legacy.

I wish it were one year, were going on 5 years with no hope for the future. Recruits were in 7th grade the last time we were good and thats hurts recreiting.

Don't have bling loyalty to a man, switch your loyalty to the actual school and its program. They are not the same.

Wake up, this is not just a "down phase" in MD basketball. I can name two coaches who won National titles and ran great programs, then BAM couldn't recruit or win any more....Denny Crum & John Thompson. Louisville & GT were great programs, but what did they do the last 4 to 6 years those men were in charge? Nothing... I love Gary and what he did for MD, but we need new blood. Just look at the MD womans program, it was great in the 80's to early 90's, then it couldn't win with the same coach that made them great.... until new coaching blood came in.

I donate money and buy tickets, I have the right to speak my mind and I'm not a fair weather fan.

anyone know who the recruits are that are coming next year? I am so sick of seeing Vasquez turning the ball over and over again. He is never in control. Gist had 1 of the most inconsistant careers here than anyone has ever had. so the 2 big shot superstars that are supposed to be the team leaders failed to lead this team. But one thing i did enjoy watching is Bamabale Osby. For someone who hardly played basketball I thought he became a decent player. The Terps need somebody like him who is not afraid to mix it up underneath.

The NIT. What an honor. The "Tournament For Losers". Well, I guess that means Maryland will be pumped for its first round game then. Yeah team! Yeah Gary!

It isn't Gary!(except for allowing offenses where they dance around the outside and shoot threes with no chance to get a rebound because NO ONE is ever heading to get a rebound).
Face it they had a good season and played well at times but with any lead seemed to think it was nap time.
Gary has been the best we ever had, I was one of the first to get on the bandwagon to fire Brian Billick, but Gary isn't in the same position. If in two or three years he still has teams that play this badly, then ok, until then give him some space, he's earned it. This is NOT the pros you know, these kids aren't getting paid for this.(I don't count scholarships because they work their butts off for them)

For all of you who rant about it being Gary's fault, and how he should be fired, please let all of us know what you think of Billy Donovon's coaching at U Fla this year, losing 8 of the last 11, after winning back to back NCAA titles? It's absurd that people think it's because Gary all of the sudden can't coach anymore! Our starting guards combined for 10 of 21 total turnovers...in contrast, BC's starting guards combined for 5 of 15 total turnovers. Statistically, does UMD even deserve to win with that many total turnovers, and that many by their starting guards? Osby and Gist combined for 9 BLOCKED shots! But with yet another game with over 20 total TOs, the players have to bear responsibility. They have a great class coming in next year, and can do some soul searching and make new commitments in the off season...that's about it...
