<quoted text> hey person -- whoever you are...professional rear-view mirror guy -- ever heard of an "ad hominem" argument? No? Well you are it. You want to avoid the persons involved presently (Newton et al) by pointing at the person who was relevant 5 years ago. You make yourself look foolish when employing such a lame tactic.
No, just pointing out the fact that sucknut fans want Newton not to get the Heisman because of a violation. But, they were glad to have Smith accept it, even though he took cash for the pay to play system at the sucknut univeristy. Kind of a double standard if you ask me...but seems like no one gets that.

How did he follow the rules of the NCAA if he took money for the pay to play system at sucknut u? If he not gotten caught, do you think he would have told them he took the money? Please OSU fans, take the glasses off and please hold your team and players to the same standards that you hold everyone else to. Seems to me that if osu players are invloved, the standards are set a little lower than those on other teams. Admit it, Smith got caught, he should have been booted, who knows how much money he took aver his career.
Troy Smith and OSU self reported, so how did they get caught? Take off your hate glasses, Troy paid his dues by missing games, how many games has Cam missed? How many games will Auburn have to forfeit due to his inelegibility? Another returned Heiseman trophyjust like Reggie Bush. If Cam was so great, why was he left off the Football Writers Association of America's All-America team as just reported on ESPN? Perhaps it isn't just Ohio State fans that are upset with the NCAA for their foolishness in allowing him to keep playing.

Unbelievable .... All three voted for Newton ( Newton had Grand Theft at Florida and dismissed from team in 2007 by Urban Meyer)+ Supposedly accepted money to later play for Auburn but his Father steps-up and accepts the blame in this one ...? Hey .... Not a good idea to vote for Newton and possible have to take the Trophy back like the Reggie Bush case ...LOL

Another asterisk. The stink of this debacle will stick for years ans years. Miles Brand the late chairman of the NCAA; terminator of Robert Montgomery Knight's employment at IU and former provost of THE Ohio State University would have suspended this mugging idiot Cam Newton and put that boy in his place. Newton is tainted and dirty...the inmates now run the prison. The NCAA is the B I T C H of the television $$$$. Sad day for college football and amateur sports.

I'm amazed May didn't have Terrelle on his ballot.

Surprised Hunter didn't find a way to vote for a Cincinnati Red.

Where there is Smoke there is Fire. Guilty...Any more need be said. You sport writers just showed your true colors. Oh its just a Football reward. No clueless, the Heisman,(yes its capitolized) at one pt. in time had an allure to its name. You idiots are tarnishing its place of specialisity. Maybe one day you will get it. Like the name above, east is now west, no wonder society is flushing itself down the tubes. Grow some spine you spineless crustations and make a stand with a NO vote to this clown, who shows no remorse. He is guilty of ncaa by laws and you know it. Go hop in bed with your spineless NCAA sister with their cop out. After this writing your credibility for any human that still thinks is zero, which in this case, I turn you OFF, and will no longer subscribe. Audios.
Grow some weaklings.

The award has lost its lofty position, shame on the voters - says something about them. This guy (Newton) can not, and never will live up to Archie's accomplishments, on and off of the field. In a matter of a few years or less he will be forgotten, or if remembered, not for being a class act.

Did Smith live up to Archies accomplishments? Guess taking money for play to pay at sucknut u is ok then?

the source of the corruption is two-fold.(1) Television contracts are the center of the college football universe. Integrity and morality take a back seat to "making money" when it comes to corporate barons at ABC/Disney. CBS is culpable for its cozy relationship with the SECOND.(2) sportwriters don't see themselves as moral arbiters. They are paid to cover what unfolds "inside the lines". In case you missed it the sportswriters essentially covered the Big Ben Rapelsburger situation exactly the same way. Sportwriters refuse to get involved in off-field misdeeds -- whether alleged or proven...or in the case with Newton et al -- confessed.

Correction on the auto-language feature: that should be "SEC" not "SECOND"
