UConn Overcomes Baylor

The UConn Huskies wouldn't care if you kept playing that song all day every day as long as they get results like they did Friday night. Full Story

I completely agree with you. The biggest joke is that the have a "2007 Big East Champion" banner in the stadium. In the game they got their doors blown off against WV. How that isn't a tiebreaker is beyond me.

Say Co-Champs again....I need to laugh a little more this AM. did you not watch the WestVA game last year? That was the unofficial official championship game. Uconn might be a growing program....so are the fans.

Believe me, the UCONN game was the last place I wanted to be last night. Since I was there I observed two below average teams battle it out. UCONN just happened to be slightly better. Lets look at the rest of the season.

Well, if that's the last place you wanted to be, then, again, I know of plenty of people who would rather be there. I don't think you seem to realize what it means to be a fan. If you are constantly insulting UConn football, and still going to games even though "it's the last place you want to be", then do something useful with your ticket instead of outright pouting on a message board, for goodness' sake. Donate it to a cause. Let a disadvantaged child go to the game, let a military veteran go to the game. Give it to someone who would appreciate kindness, if you have any in you at all. If you're just going to act spoiled and childish, then do anything but to use it yourself, please.

Sally Dogs: I'm a big UConn fan, but not one of those extremists who thinks everyone in CT HAS to be a diehard Husky fan; you're allowed to cheer for whomever you want. BUT, I have to ask, exactly what team ARE you a fan of? Do you post positive remarks on their local newspaper's boards?.. Probably not. You'd just rather keep going to UConn games and downplay the many strides they've made in these few, short years. UConn football is what it is; they're not a national title contender..yet, they're not a historical powerhouse with dozens of players in the NFL, but they ARE a rising program with lots of fans who have a good time at the games and support them and who will enjoy their success as they continue rising. You can't control the teams you play in conference and they're starting to put together out of conference deals with very respectable programs moving forward. In the meantime, all they can do is beat the teams they play.. which they're doing, one step at a time. For the team's sake, I hope they don't read these boards, because I wouldn't want to play here knowing there are so many ungrateful, unreasonably critical people in the same state.

Agreed. And even if the team members do read these boards, they'd dismiss the haters pretty quickly -- I think they'd even laugh, because I know I do -- because it's so patently obvious that they have the intelligence of -- uhh, "grapefruits"...

Good win, Huskies.
p.s. One last thing, you are probably one of the idiots who sit around the water cooler on Mondays saying "we" played awesome this weekend. Um, news flash: "YOU" didn't do anything but stuff your grill with nachos and drink four cans of Pepsi while sitting on your **** with your toy poodle. The UConn football team "plays" on the field. "You" do not.
Well Said Marcus.

I just scrolled through this disgusting rant of comments. I enjoy watching this team play. When you start a program you have to start somewhere. This tea has done very well in the past 5 years. Six year (or is it seven) they were a nothing team in division 1-AA. Today they are at least recognized by teams such as ND and Tenn which do not have any obligation to do so.
That said if you donít like this team, then donít watch them and by all means keep your comments to yourself and (if you have any) your friends that might care about your opinion.

I don't like college football because the bowl system is a joke. Only one game matters at the end of the season and that is the National Championship game. Nobody cares who wins the Meineke car care bowl. I laugh when fans go crazy over just making it to one of those nobody cares bowls. The NFL blows away college football as does MLB baseball. If UCONN makes it to the National Championship game I will never blog again, so that means if I am fortunate to live to 100 I'll be around for awhile.

Most of the players probably can't read or write, so I wouldn't worry about them reading this blog. You must be proud to have graduated from the same school that some of this fine UCONN athlete students attend. Now that is entertaining!

You and Kalid El Amin attended the same academic college. That makes you proud? I'd be embarrassed if I were you.

I was very happy to see the win, especially with the inept officials and their inability to officiate correctly. More than once I thought they were trying their hardest to make certain that UCONN did not win.
RIDE ON JUNE, THE BAYLOR GAME "ZEBRA'S" SHOULD BE PUT ON A BOX AT THE CORNER OF ALBANY N MAIN AT MIDNIGHT WITH A TIN CUP FULL OF PENCILS. THE SAFETY CALL AND NUMEROUS OTHERS SHOULD DEMOTE THE WHOLE CREW TO SOUTHINGTON HIGH TAG FOOTBALL GAMES.

Sally Dogs: If you don't like UConn/college football, then why do you go to games, depsite your complete lack of interest? Don't you find it odd, that you spend countless hours voluntarily watching something you don't even like, only to rant about how much you dislike it in the following days? Call me crazy, but most normal people tend to enjoy things they're interested in during their free time. Next time the rest of us are at a game with our friends and family, having a good time, I hope you enjoy sitting in solitude with a beer in your hand and a lifeless expression on your face. You should be easy to spot; maybe one of us will come over, say "Hello" and try improve your miserbale life with some actual human interaction. For the record, UConn is a good school, with thousands of successful alums. I'm a grad; check out my IP address. Where are you slummin' these day?
