Knight resigns at Texas Tech

LUBBOCK, TEXAS: Bob Knight resigned Monday from Texas Tech, a stunning midseason move by the winningest men's coach in major college basketball.

What a great career by a GREAT MAN. This is a Coach every parent should want their child to play for - integrity, discipline, honesty, and above all - get your degree. Thank you Coach Knight for being a real role model and what you have meant to so many people through the years. Best wishes on a well deserved retirement.

Met him on a plane once. He was across the aisle in first class. He asked for part of my paper - I said "Sports?". He smiled, "No, I got that one under control". At the end of the flight he made a point to thank me for loaning him my paper.

Seemed like a nice guy.

Actually, Bobby began his coaching career as an assistant at Cuyahoga Falls High School under Harold Andres, his assistant at Indiana. Thanks for the fun, Bobby!

One has to wonder if there isn't something wrong with him. He's about the right age and the right size for it. I love the man but all those years of screaming almost certainly have had a deleterious effect on his health.
