Mountaineer fan as I am, I too am a little surprised that John is the only running back in the running for the Heisman. He's already got over 540 yards rushing in 3 games against respectable competition. Still, if it weren't for that 2nd quarter against the Corn Huskers, his standing might not be so lofty, I'm actually sorry to say.

You know as well as I that sucking Co(ahem)k has "nothing" to do with it. The Heisman is supposed to go to that individual who's the best in all of college football; his being there on the field actually makes his teammates better.

What also surprises me are the incredible numbers put up by Geno Smith (WVU). I mean, come on folks, competition aside, you can't ignore an 88% completion rate for well over 700 yards and 9 TD's in only 2 games. Those numbers are just outrageous. The big question we have to really ask ourselves is how well would he be doing without Tavon Austin & Stedman Bailey. They each have over 20 catches a piece, and have combined for over 440 yards and 7 TD's. Who's making who better?

It's early yet; let's see how it all pans out. Enjoy!!!
