Your pot comes mixed with tobacco? That should be easy to see before you buy it.

Pot buds are little pine cone shaped (piniform) clusters of greenish to rusty colored, hairy or powdery balls. http://snipurl.com/28aakcq

I call it tyranny - ish.
Just like the tyranny, or slavery, you advocate by having government determine what someone is allowed to earn.
If government gets to control the amount you earn, and they get to set the amount themselves, then they control it all.
That's slavery, Dave.
Reagan was the best president of the 20th century, and the last good president we had, or will have, until things get a lot worse.
If you want me to dig into that argument with you, we can, and you will lose.
One of us knows what he's talking about here.
:-)

Sorry, Buck. I was here when all that happened.

Did I tell you my Momma was a John Bircher, or that I grew up quite familiar with the right wing crowd and how they thought? Or how much they had infiltrated government? The Cold War era was a strange animal.

From that I also recognize the flip side of that coin.

Eisenhower and Carter were the two best presidents of my time, with the nod going to Ike. Carter was assassinated by the entrenched rightwingers in the bureaucracy. He didn't stand a chance. Especially since he wasn't a stooge for Israel. That was a most interesting pivotal point in "liberal" doctrine.

However, everything gets hijacked to suit one's ambitions. The Reagan crowd was particularly good at that.

Put the extreme lefties on the left side of the wall, and the extreme righties on the right side. Then you alternate shots side to side.

I'm a rather militant middle of the roader.

Yeah.

Couldn't have higher wages cutting into record profits or anything.

The shareholders would probably stage a revolution.

It's been proven a total fabrication by a couple of journalists.
What the hell have you been reading?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/October_Surprise...

It wasn't proven to be a fabrication.

Ronald Reagan was called the Teflon President. There is a reason for that. Edwin Meese being the Attorney General who had to approve mergers of the time. Uh, that's when the news organizations did their big mergers and consolidations. If Ed approved them.

You won't find too much bad stuff about him from then. I read some back then and they are no where to be found now. And this was in major newspapers.

The Reagan crowd was on the ruthless side. But they weren't so ideological as power hungry.

The Brits used to prefer their pot mixed with tobacco if my memory serves me right. More economical and rolled better. You could make them look like real cigarettes. Smoked more evenly, also.

Don't be a dumb ass, if possible.

Everything that minimum wage employers provide will go up with the minimum wage.

The employers of the minimum wage work force will not take the hit for the wage increase, they'll simply raise the price of their products or services so they can keep their profit margin where they want it. Some employers will not be able to afford their current work crew and be forced to fire some.

McDonald's will change their dollar menu.

Milk, eggs and other dairy products will get the prices raised.

Your local Chinese food place with raise the price of their food.

Etc.

It will also increase the hiring of illegal aliens that don't have a set pay.

Fast food will take a hit. Quite a few service industries that use a lot of minimum wage labor will. It shouldn't impact the industrial sector much, or what manufacturing industry is left.

Maybe people will get healthier and leaner eating fewer french fries.

I remember the day you had to park and take a seat to eat, or stand at a counter for take out. People were leaner. You didn't tip for takeout.

Waitresses were a trip back then. Part of the experience. Also provided employment for old hookers who couldn't compete any more.

Life was so much more personal and human oriented back then.

I was TDY in a place once with no transportation. The only places to eat was the motel lounge and a MacDonald's down the street. Three solid months. To this day I can not eat another Big Mac.

Another place later was where a small truck stop was it. Fortunately it was only a month or so. But Big Macs were starting to look good. Oh, I remember the great selection. Meat and two veggies. Two helpings of mashed potatoes.

Oh, the days of Salisbury steaks, open faced sandwiches, and all the grease you could eat extra. And waitresses with attitudes. Minimum wage and tips. Which were often overestimated by employers on W-2's.

Raise the wage. Too many people depend on it now with no factory jobs.

If you are so determined to avoid spiritual matters, you have the option of not talking about it.
If you reject that option, and talk about it, you then become encumbered by it. You are obligated to talk about it as what it is.
It's not the same as finding out you can do long division.
Lots of words here Buck, but totally lacking substance.

Sorry about that.

Or eat burgers from McDonald's.

But no matter. People should be paid a living wage, and if it results in the burger costing another dime, so be it.
