When a person has the ability to evaluate information and apply reason to determine what is most likely true, they are delusional when they accept things as true just because they provide some benefit.
Does this mean that all religious believers are delusional? No, it only means the more intelligent ones are delusional. The less intelligent ones don't know any better.
That's a bit harsh to say, but I haven't found any compelling argument that would allow me to be more generous. The only way for me to temper that is to bring up the power of religious indoctrination. As highly social animals, it's fairly easy for us to be swept up in a religion when it occupies a huge amount of territory in the culture we live in. That's why I call religion a socially supported delusion. To give some scope, nationalism is also a socially supported delusion. There are plenty of social constructs that we accept without ever truly understanding them.
Having an awareness of our nature that often stands in conflict with what is actually true, perhaps we can break some of the cycles that hinder our progress. Perhaps we can construct new social paradigms that rely more on process and methodology and less on dogmatic "truth".
Rant over.

The real problem, Dave, is that the wealthy have a slew of tax loopholes available, and able professionals to find them and use them.
Our system favors the rich, at the expense of the middle class and those who are barely able to make ends meet.
That's what needs to be changed.
Most systems do.

But it is in the best interest of the wealthy to keep a healthy and happy middle class to protect them others that will take it away.

The biggest problem is Wall St that ran wild and never got reined in since Reagan was in office. They set up a great dairy there playing on the greed of investors wanting maximum dividend returns. Plus lots of book cooking. There is a very insular and incestuous relationship of parasites riding herd on the economy. Which includes lawyers, politicians, and insurance companies.

First of all Bill Gates is agnostic.

Secondly there may be small pockets of charitable donations from individual Atheist.

But I can assure you the impact of Atheist charitable organizations helping the recent disasters in the Philippines is practically nil.

And same goes for the response to central Illinois.

Most of your average Atheist don’t have a reputation of giving to charitable organizations. At least that’s the way I see it.

Atheist do have a reputation of spending resources fighting Christmas traditions.

I’m sorry Doctor, Atheist just don’t care about their fellow man . Not one Atheist came on topix and asked for donations to the Japan Tsunami or the Philippine storm tragedy. There’s a reason for that. They simply don’t care.

This post just shows us all that you are ignorant to what Obamacare really is and what it means to individuals.
Under Obamacare, you can get tax subsidies to help offset the cost of your insurance. The less you make, the closer to 'free' it becomes.
As with all subsidies, there are income level caps. If you make more than that cap, you get no tax help. You pay full price for your now way overpriced insurance.
My income is above that level, I can get no tax subsidies that Obamacare has laid out.
I also cannot get into coveredca.com health insurance because my employer offers insurance, even though I can't afford that insurance anymore.
Quit being such a worthless troll.

I agree to a point.

In my view, though, the biggest problem is the power of lobbyists.

So.

Which is the stronger god? Your Satan or your God?

Because you have to remember-- the bible was written by your god, right? In other words, written by the opposition.

Can you really trust that it won't fudge the truth about your Satan?

Seriously, your Satan could be the stronger deity, here.

You really need to think these things through...

... wait. I asked you to **think**.

Too bad you guessed wrong.
So you are trying to say your god **did** heal the amputees?

Wait... no he didn't.

I no case, has an amputee **ever** been healed by your do-nothing god.

I guess his "answer" was **always**-- NO.

Wow.
