Classic.
When confronted with facts that prove the self-delusions are just that: delusions, the victim (you) quickly turns to thoughts of violence.
Your kind has been murdering my kind since religion was invented, all those millions of years ago.
It took the rise of reason and science, to put a stop to that behavior.
You probably have no idea how irrational and incoherent that post sounded.

<quoted text>back when I played for Michigan, I once left 6 linebackers passed out on the field when a bulldozed them, actually had a beer i one hand and a joint in the other, coach was pissed, but let me finish the game. I had 9 touchdowns, pretty cool eh.
I remember I guy in a bar I hit him so hard he swallowed ALL of his teeth, broke his jaw, and nose, and cracked 4 ribs, all with ONE punch.
Funny you should mention testing I was teated for heroine AND cocaine, tested positive for both, coach let me play anyway, I was a scoring machine. Players would actually step aside rather than try and tackle me. I should have gone on and played in the NFL, but the government thought I'd be a big asset to the country as a CIA secret operative. Lost track of how many I killed, became fun after a while.
Let talk more about our amazing lives and accomplishments, this is fun.
I bet over the years you could tell a story or two about musicians performing with illegal narcotics in their blood. I don’t think we can blame that on God can we?

All of the above?

Are listed as **virtues** in most religions, if the situation is according to the god's will.

This is **especially** true of Genuine Christianity™

That means you are an atheist but could change to become an agnostic.
There's no such thing as an agnostic atheist. There can't be.
Are you this stupid, or did you take special stupid lessons?

I am an agnostic-atheist.

I have no faith in any gods: atheist.

I hold that you cannot know the entire universe, to determine if all possible god are real nor not: agnostic.

You really need to start asking the people who **call** themselves atheist, instead of going to the Liars For Jesus websites, who have no clue.

That individuals are endowed with rights by virtue of each person being created by a creator, and thus those rights accrue to each person equally, regardless of status or birth. That is a religious concept
This sounds like what people that believe in a god came up with on their own without help from their religion. If you think that I am mistaken, can you refer me to the relevant bible passages that led those men to think those thoughts?

And do you think this affirms the value of religion or Christianity? Do you think that implies that we should try to protect the Christians' declining church from shrinking further? If not, is there any practical aspect to this argument? What do you think it implies if you are correct?

Agreed. It's pretty damn hard to be skeptical if something you don't believe in.
For example, I'm not skeptical about Santa.
I wonder if the agnostics here are...
You are **not** skeptical about Santa? So you **believe** in Santa?

Wow.. you **are** nuts.

So what?
You just admitted that you operate 100% in a state of self-delusion, unconnected to reality in any way.
Your final two sentences reveal this for certain--especially "no facts necessary"..
That says it all, right there:
"no facts necessary".
Indeed.
The fruits of a faith-based self-delusion-- no facts necessary.
.. by chance, did I offend you ??..

.. if so, I'm sorry ..

Take a deep breath and breath out sloooooowly, "evoluuuuuuuution."
Your like the little boy who stands in the middle of a field and shouts, "The Earth's not really turning, it's everything else in the sky." Older people come up to him and whisper, "thats not really true little boy, the Earth spins on it's axis." "NO it doesn't, claims the little boy, it's a lie, everything goes around the earth, the earth stands still." Finally the older more educated people just shrug their shoulders and move on, leaving the poor little boy in the middle of the field shouting his ridiculous claims, and the only ones listening are the animals and birds, the birds, if they could understand the rantings of this poor uneducated little boy, would only laugh as the adults had done, for even they know the Earth spins on its axis.

At some point the adults stop laughing and sorry and pity slowly spreads over their faces, realizing for the first time that there is simply no hope for this lost little boy who denies factual information, no hope whatsoever!!!

I'll pass, too. I think such a meeting would probably be boring. Atheism doesn't need a meeting. I've been to a few, and they weren't the best use of my time.

An hour posting on Topix is probably an hour better spent than at a meeting of unbelievers. The believers here are my only direct link to religion. And the unbelievers here are usually more articulate, informed and interesting than people can be in a meeting.
I've been to a few atheist meet-ups.

Sometimes, the time was well spent/well invested.

Most of the time it was just a gab-fest, without much direction.

That's okay too-- but hardly grounds to build a community around.

The truth is as you well know, simple atheism is too small an idea, too limited a scope to ever be much of anything apart from a default, starting point.

To really move forward, there **must** be a positive statement of intent, such as what Secular Humanism does.

And I've not located anything like that, hereabouts-- apart from a couple of Universal Unitarian groups. Alas, they are nice--but they love them their rituals and silliness.(**again** with the songs I do not like so very much).

I'm just not into ritual for ritual's sake-- and without a god to placate? What's the point anyway?

:)
