Atheism requires as much faith as religion? bearvspuma : The only problem with this rationalization is that ita s assuming all athiests are so because theya re intelligent in the ways of science and reasoning and all people that believe in a form of god are unintelligent.

I can't really see ,how you can actually believe this ....the absurdity of it ..

To suggest , those that subscribe to religion are willfully deluding themselves ..huh.?

Psychology , would have nailed the coffin shut on religion decades ago , if this were really the case ..

( thank-you for correcting my solecism ...it's Europa , that may prove to have liquid water .)
Well , you're a brave young woman ...As, I don't really believe an extraterrestrial civilization would take kindly towards us ...I don't really relish the thought of being being someone's slave or main course ..
Again I will tell you I no woman, I have a wife though, and 5 kids.
But when we talk about finding life, I tend to think more microbial or very simple life forms maybe found. The chances of finding intelligent life, or especially a society in this solar system is very small. But if we ever do find intelligent life, AKA: a society, would you expect it to behave differently than civilization here? Predation however is also a requisite of all life we know of, so that is to be expected.
What you are saying is you're afraid of moving out west because the Indian savages are out there.

Not that anyone had any doubt, since it is quite obvious.

To answer this last idiotic post of yours, I do not answer idiotic off-topic questions. It is you who has evaded my posts about the US and State Constitutions concerning religion. Yours are typical childish tactics to evade the subject being discussed here, after being cornered.
The less you post the less you will make a fool of yourself. Now go back to your drugs, boy.

That's what you think, but you are wrong. They have their men everywhere, even in Arabia and China, an Arab or Chinese wearing light blue patch across his suit and holding a sword swearing an oath to satan in illuminati temple is nothing unusual

<quoted text>you're assuming that the godless theory of evolution is true!

how could you possibly 'prove' a theory that's less than only 200 years old but needs over 13 billion years of documented evidence in order to certify its validity?

i have documented & certifiable evidence that says you're being irrational and obstinate in your way of thinking and that the sole motive behind it is godlesness!
200 years of of evidence without a single piece of contrive rating evidence.

Rational people consider that to be extremely solid.

Even the Catholic Church.

<quoted text>The US IS a Christian country because the majority are Christians.
The Constitution was written by devout believers in god.
The Founding Fathers were Christians and firm believers in God.
The fact that they put freedom of belief in the constitution is proof that they were tolerant Christians. So you should thank Christians for giving you the liberty to be an atheist, instead of hating them. Which was exactly my point in the post you refer to.

I don't know if it's in the US Constitution, since I am European, but there is a declaration that says "One nation under one God".
One nation under god was added to our pledge-not the constitution-in the early 1950's as a response the the so-called godless communists.

Are you saying that man is the only intelligent life in the Universe?
Even the Milky Way is only a small part of the Vast Universe, of which we know very little.
This is the same as the Atheist argument. We don't have proof that other intelligent, or even super intelligent and advanced beings, exist in the Universe, therefore they do NOT exist.
Does this argument make sense to you?
Btw, I like to talk with reasoning people like you who bring good arguments, not with idiotic trolls who have nothing to offer except childish name calling.
No I didn't say man was the only intelligent life in the universe.
I don't assume anything like that, as you said it is far too vast to be able to tell at this time.
Earth sadly the only "known" host to intelligent life though. However...
Anything even at distance from us within the milky way, let alone in other galaxies would be virtually undetectable with our current technology.

But within this solar system if super intelligent or advanced beings existed, we would have from most likely, to near certainty have detected their use of energy.
It only takes 17 hours for signals to reach Voyager 1 @ the fringe of our solar system.
So any signals would be as constant as ours and we could watch alien tv shows.
Or picked up some type communications chatter.

I was trying to find this book , written by a egg head astronomer ...I don't believe it is theistic .

But , in the excerpts ...He discusses just how incredibly * lucky * we are to have this Earth ..

Think about it , the location , how we happened to have this Moon , the abundance of fossil fuels , the speed in which incredibly complex cells evolved ..

Our conscience ...even a child reared by brigands , can turn away from such a lifestyle .

Reality isn't quite such a pretty picture. The struggle of life is a long and hard one, hardly a cake walk. 5 major extinctions and several smaller ones, 99% of species died out.
Life began in the late heavy bombardment, and if it weren't for the incredible resiliency life has, it would have been snuffed out. You make it sound like life for the animals at the zoo.
You were thinking "god I'm hungry" and then dinner is served right on time without breaking a sweat.
