Former U.N weapons inspector Scott Ritter, Boston, 2001, about planned US war on Iraq
The First Casualty. editorial

In These Times, Nov 2002. p1

The national security of the United States of America has been hijacked by a handful of neoconservatives who are using their position of authority to pursue their own ideologically driven political ambitions, and the day we go to war for that reason is the day that we have failed collectively as a nation.

James Petras interview

The Coup and Chavez's future

International Social Review, May-June 2002, p14

The real issue is that the U.S. wants to overthrow [Pres. Hugo Chavez] to put Venezuela in line with their other clients in Latin America and knock down the only government that offers an alternative foreign policy for the whole region. They don't want that alternative present.

That's why this coup was planned, directed, and financed by the Bush administration. It wasn't just the CIA. The assistant secretary of state for Western hemisphere affairs was involved - I'm talking about the Cuban terrorist exile Otto Reich. I'm talk ing about people like Elliot Abrams, who was in the Reagan administration and involved in justifying the killings in Central America, which amounted to 300,000 deaths. I'm talking about John Negroponte, the U.S. ambassador to the UN, who was involved with the death squads in Honduras.

I could give you a longer list. But you get an idea - you have thugs running U.S. policy in Latin America, who are capable not only of overthrowing a government but engaging in the kind of violent repression that was launched in those 24 hours of the coup [against Hugo Chave

Consciousness manifests a living brain and neurosystem , without the physically functioning biological parts, there is none.
You can have consciousness when the body's neurosystem is malfunctioning or the sensory inputs and outputs get shut off. Sleeping does that to a degree.

Do amputees have reduced consciousness when the balance of inputs and ouputs connected to the brain gets scrambled?

You consider these things way too simplistic. You must be a fundie of some sort.

You don't fully awake until you leave this noise and confusion, uIDiot.
I am quite familiar with human natire and have suffered a whole bunch because of it. A sensitive soul that ran a gauntlet of treachery and deceit for a long time. But instead of overreacting I tried to understand the reasons for it. This is why I can't hate or blame others. Don't have to accept them or believe they have a right to exist, but I can forgive them on my personal level. They are lost in this fog just like me, looking for a guiding light out of it. You haven't reached that level yet. You are still suffering from disillusionment and trying to extinguish those lights and trying to replace with your projections. Like I have said before, try understanding the reasons, and not kneejerk reacting to them. That's the scientific method, and it may have longer lasting benefits on your personal level.
You won't find the answers here from the outside, but from the inside.
I smiled when I saw your fully Awake. I've had a username since 2002 that has been quite unique. Never saw a duplicate. It is wehican. A process still in progress. There is a little lilt in the pronounciation.

Perhaps I have a better grasp of tuned systems than you.

Feedback is a biggy.

Has to do with the thermodynamic laws, or something like that.

Yes you can have all sorts of altered states of consciousness, provided you have a brain and neurosystem. But That isn't what we are asking is it?
You wont have any consciousness without a head, at least not from about 30 seconds after it's disconnected.

The head won't have one, but you can't be sure about the consciousness that resided there for a while.

Couldn't come up with anything intelligent, huh?

Take a UAV. You have a physical system to detect and channel changes in a steady state of energy transfer. Your electronics. You also have a system to provide mobility and the course of taken. Your engine, flaps, etc. You have a system to give visual and other feedback also going through that system to detect changes in a steady state. In addition you will have subsystems to handle routines independent of the telemetry, but feeding back info indicating the state it is in. It can make corrections according to local conditions to a degree. Telemetry is changes in the steady state the operator is using, and the steady state of the UAV. A common signaling arrangement, a code, is provided for the two to exchange information. The telemetry is invisible. It is transmitted as changes in a relatively stable state over a much larger area. Your EM emissions.

They are separated by 10,000 miles. Where is the consciouness of this device?

I seriously doubt with or without American covert operations , Latin America would not still remain a volatile and dangerous continent ...
