Don't flatter yourself,Coach. I doubt USC wants another second hand head coach. I think you are just wanting attention and tv coverage by releasing a "statement". You are correct USC has not contacted you and I would not sit by the phone waiting either. Are you that in need of attention to drum it up? Sad dude, really sad.

We don't need Greg Marshall now. He should've been the pick before he pulled the fast-one on the College of Charleston. Who's to say that he wouldn't do the same thing to us. We've been down that road before (1993) when Cremins changed his mind about leaving Ga. Tech. I would prefer we get someone who is up-and-coming that nobody's heard of with a lot of fire in his belly.

You guys must think you are one of the Elite, huh?
Sorry, but you are not, and everyone knows BB there is 2nd fiddle to FB. We like our coach, we are behind him, and without all the fuss created over here, and by your paper, he would not had to issue a statement. We have some stellar recruits coming in next year, and We want Coach Marshall there to coach them, his recruits.

But, it's not all bad, here is where you need to look:

Dont flatter yourself Shoxfan. I dont care if basketball is 10th fiddle. We can pay him more money and play better compition. Also, dont you know that the hardest states to live in are the easiest to draw?

Overall, you might play in a stronger league but I do not think you are paying your current coach more than Marshall is getting at WSU right now. Despite your perception, money is not really an issue at WSU.
Basketball is the number one sport at WSU and that is why Marshall felt he had to issue a statement. He did not sound happy about it either.

Just because baseball has had more success at WSU doesn't make it a baseball school. Basketball is king and always will be here. The only reason Marshall would leave WSU for SC is because of conference affiliation. That's all SC offers.

Well that and thats its been his home for his whole life. Look sub I'm not trying to argue I'm just pointing out the obvious. Both schools are baseball schools. You may draw more fans into a warm arena for a basketball game but that doesnt make it a basketball school. WSU has lots of basketball tradition. But since 78 it has more baseball tradition. Success of a program has to be considered when determining these things. I only wish WSU and USC were gonna square off this year in baseball. I'd bet on WSU :)

When baseball sells out for an entire season at WSU, then it will replace basketball in the pecking order. Winning a whole lot of games doesn't make baseball #1. Basketball is King.

Yeah you expect 8000 to show up in feb to watch baseball for four hours when its 32 degrees? Look more tickets are sold for basketball because its inside and the games last 2 hours. WSU is a top 15 team every year in baseball and has been for 30 years now. WSU basketball has not. When the basketball team can sustain the success the baseball program has then I will consider WSU a basketball school. Not until then. WSU lands high school all americans for the baseball team every year. Basketball does not. There are so many more reason why WSU is a baseball school than there are reason why WSU is a basketball school. Although the only one you want to bring up is tickets sold. But lets face it being outside in feb for four hours isnt many folks idea of good times. I bet if WSU baseball played in a nice warm arena that it would be sold out to... probably going on 25 years straight.
