Marriage - between a Man & Woman
Union - Between who ever

There is a difference. Men and women are not supose to marry one another. I understand you can not help who you fall in Love with and I understand that its not a choice.
It is not a marraige, its a UNION.

Off their website:

Scripture
Scripture is writing inspired by Godís Spirit and accepted by the church as the normative expression of its identity, message, and mission. We affirm the Bible as the foundational scripture for the church. In addition, Community of Christ uses the Book of Mormon and the Doctrine and Covenantsónot to replace the witness of the Bible or improve on it, but because they confirm its message that Jesus Christ is the Living Word of God. When responsibly interpreted and faithfully applied, scripture provides divine guidance and inspired insight for our discipleship.

My dad says Unions are killing our hotel profits. So I'm against it.

Marriage in the past (and present, in many places) is defined as between one man and several women; less commonly one woman and several men; and even one group of men with one group of women (the Oneida community). So your statement is not true. If you are speaking of your own cult's definition, it might be but lots of other cults feel differntly. And none of the cults are the same as civil law, which is also different. You are like a mare wearing blinders.

Actually, marriage is a union of love - regardless of who, what or where. Yeah, we wouldn't want any more love in this world, would we?

Down with love - all hail hate, dispair and seperatism!!!!

In a religious sense, you can be as correct as you wish, but we have never really asked for that.

We seek secular Civil Marriage.

What the hell is this doing on offbeat? Obviously belongs on the gay/lesbo or the religion forums. Hope this doesn't end up like the "US News" forum after BHO took over. Every other story was gay this or gay that. For being <1% of the population, they get way too much coverage, IMO.

TOPIX created the gay/lesbian forum under the "offbeat" category heading.

You're obviously new to Topix. Here's how it works.

Article links get posted by editors (or by Topix's own automated roboblogger) to an area. Topix's software looks for keywords in the linked article and then automatically crossposts the article link and discussion thread into what the system believes are related topic areas.

I'm an editor in the Gay/Lesbian section, and I was the one who posted the article link in that section. Topix then crossposted it automatically to other areas. People who come to the article's discussion thread could have found it in any number of categories here at Topix.

You're welcome.
