Democrats are low.
"In a must-watch exchange, former NSC Spokesman Tommy Vietor discussed the Benghazi terror attack of 2012 with FOX News Chief Political Anchor Bret Baier.
Baier asked about President Barack Obama's whereabouts the night of the attack, as well as whether Vietor had a hand in allegedly changing the White House's messaging directives following the tragedy.
"Did you change 'attacks' to 'demonstrations' in the talking points?" Baier pressed.
"Maybe, I don't remember," Vietor responded, "Dude, this was two years ago!" he said incredulously.
"Dude, it's the thing everyone's talking about," Baier said.
Vietor insisted that the email sparking recent news, sent by Obama adviser Ben Rhodes, spelled out "nothing new".
He also admitted that the president was not in the situation room on the night of the attack, saying only that the president was "in the White House"

Hi! It is another Friday and time for my meager message. I may give you a message later today...I want to see what Jesus Christ Sananda
has to say...If you want to get his message for today; type these words
into the top browser line of you computer....Jesus Christ Sananda`s
message and today`s date and a question mark...enjoy....As I have said
before, according to the messages I get on the internet from heaven; the inventions Heaven has for us are going to be given to the countries
of Tiawan and Communist China! The reason for this is because their
governments are not going to styfle the pattens. Wait until you see a
flying saucer flying over the U.S.A. mainland and it was made in
Communist China! Remember "SPUTNIK"? Sputnik got the U.S.A.
to think that maybe The Soviet Union was ahead of The U.S.A. in
science and mathematics! If you examine the internet closely, you will
find that there are anti gravity devices for sale, that are made in
Communist China, already! And they are cheap! I think you can buy
anti gravity devices on Amazon....I am going to surf the net...Happy
end of the world, as we know it! Love, el cid 777

Lower-wage industries make up half of annual job gains

"Looking at the types of jobs making up U.S. employment also provides a cause for concern. Among 13 industries that make up total U.S. private-sector employment, the five with the lowest nominal average weekly earnings represented about 52% of private-sector employment gains over the past year, according to Friday’s jobs report from the U.S. Labor Department. Leisure and hospitality employment showed the strongest growth among low-earning industries, added 412,000 jobs over the year through April, representing about 17% of total private-sector job gains.

Middle-earning industries — professional and business services, construction and manufacturing — represented about 40% of annual job gains. While higher-earning industries made up about 8% of added employment.

Longer-term trends show lopsided jobs growth , with lower-wage employment ramping up in recent years. During the recession, lower-wage industries made up 22% of job losses. But over the past four years, these jobs made up 44% of employment growth , according to a recently released report from the National Employment Law Project, a New York-based advocacy group. "

i'm pretty sure this is one of the, rare as it may be, MSM right wing sites.
Charles Krauthammer argued on Special Report tonight that the new Benghazi e-mails from the White House are a “smoking document,” but that the media will plead that the scandal is too complicated, so the issue is dead. Alas, the scandal is complicated enough that Krauthammer is either mistaken about the facts of what he calls “a classic cover-up of a cover-up,” or he’s eliding the details for his audience.
An e-mail revealed today shows a White House official recommending that U.N. ambassador Susan Rice play up the importance in the Benghazi attacks of an anti-Islam YouTube video that was mentioned in an unclassified summary from the intelligence community (the “talking points”), in order to help burnish the administration’s image. Krauthammer claims this demolishes the White House’s longstanding claim that “this stuff”— the involvement of the video —“all came from the CIA, or from intelligence, that it was completely clean.” What the batch of e-mails (most of which aren’t new, they can be read here) show is the opposite: that the CIA and the State Department assembled talking points pinning the attacks partly on the video, without any input from the White House.

The household survey is insane

Opinion: Don’t believe the drop in the unemployment rate to 6.3%

"The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday that the U.S. unemployment rate fell to 6.3% in April, the lowest level since the collapse of Lehman Bros. in September 2008, and the largest one-month drop in the jobless rate in three years.

Don’t believe it. The data come from a survey of about 60,000 households. In normal times, it’s pretty volatile. In April, it was absolutely bonkers. Many of the statistics in the survey are extreme outliers, producing values far outside the normal ranges.

It’s simply not believable that the labor market contracted so violently according to one survey, while at the same time a separate survey of business establishments showed strong payroll growth of 288,000.

Consider this: The jobless rate fell because 733,000 fewer people were considered unemployed. That’s the largest one-month decline since 1949, when unemployment fell by 920,000 when two large national strikes concluded.

Nothing like that happened in April.

The number of people in the labor force plunged by 806,000, the largest since last October when the federal government shutdown pushed a lot of people out. Nothing like that happened in April.

The big reason for the decline in the labor force was a sharp drop of 417,000 in the number of people who have been previously employed and who started a job or started looking for a job in April. "

Seizing Control: A Better Way to Cover the White House

"The typical White House reporter considers President Obama's team the most secretive in memory, stingier with information than the tight-lipped Bush White House and, according to a Politico survey, prone to lie. The press corps also is relatively inexperienced, with 39 percent on the beat five years or less, and nearly 60 percent in their first decade.

Don't let the White House set the ground rules. Everything a White House official does, says or writes is on the record, meaning it can be reported at your discretion, unless you determine that it's in your audience's best interest to adjust the rules.

1. The president storms into the media cabin aboard Air Force One to gripe about his coverage, and preemptively declares the session "off the record." That would mean you can't write or broadcast what he says. But everything the man says is news to your audience. You're a reporter, not a priest.

2. The press secretary walks into the briefing room flanked by two senior presidential advisers for what he calls "a background briefing." This would mean you can report their claims, but you can't disclose the officials' names.

3. White House officials overwhelm you with angry emails and telephone calls. At best, they're wasting your time. At worst, you're getting intimidated. Politely remind the officials that every email and telephone call is on the record. Inform them that you think their communications would make a good story. "Is this what the taxpayers want you doing with your time?"

Seizing Control: A Better Way to Cover the White House

"Don't go to White House briefings. They're a waste of time. The press secretary rarely makes news and, when he does, the information is a stale commodity; everybody gets it. While your competitors rot away in the briefing room, slip outside the gates and grab a meal or cup of coffee with a potential source, ideally one who doesn't work in the White House. Blowing off briefings is a competitive advantage.

Cover the White House from the "outside in." That's the phrase used by Caren Bohan of Reuters to describe her mastery of agencies and legislative offices disconnected from the White House vault. When Politico asked for tips on how to cover the White House, Jonathan Karl of ABC News said, "By going outside the White House – to Congress, the Pentagon, the State Department or the political world."

foreign policy....too hawkish. Americans are tired of fighting wars. tired of hearing threats of war. tired of losing men for no good reason. tired of DC lobbies convincing Congress to spend money on the military that doesn't need to be spent.

Obamacare....billions spent on right wing disinformation campaign. despite that, 8 million sign up. getting more popular by the day.

economics.....GOP in Congress. on purpose. just ask them.

Sen. Claire McCaskill believes Secretary of State John Kerry has some explaining to do

"
Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) is seeking an explanation for the State Department’s recent request for outside tutors to teach a course on how to survive congressional hearings.

In a letter sent to Secretary of State John Kerry this week, McCaskill, the chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs subcommittee on financial and contracting oversight, questions whether paying contractors to prep officials to face Congress is a good use of the agency’s resources.

“I question the Department’s decision to award a new contract to manage its communications with Congress, rather than focusing its time and attention on fixing its underlying problems,” McCaskill wrote, citing an April inspector general’s finding that the department’s oversight of its contracts leaves much to be desired."

Krauthammer also missteps when he says the YouTube explanation couldn’t have come from the intelligence community because deputy CIA director Michael Morell testified that the idea “didn’t come from him.” But Morell said under oath that his top CIA counterterror analyst wrote the original draft of the talking points, in which the agency concluded, on balance, the attacks had been intertwined with a video protest. Krauthammer says the video explanation has to have come from the State Department or the White House — Morell said it came from the intelligence community and that the White House never made any substantive comments.

The State Department did demand a watering-down of the talking points’ discussion of warnings before the attacks (presumably for self-interested reasons) and the involvement of al-Qaeda-tied groups, which they got from the CIA. The one remaining issue is why exactly the State Department demanded those changes, and how they got them done: The White House has tried to play this down, as I wrote last year, but State got lots of potentially controversial details taken out at the request not of an Obama appointee but career civil servant Victoria Nuland. There are reasonable if not satisfactory reasons for why State would have done that, but they could have done it to make themselves look good. That would be a scandal all its own — but not the one Benghazi theorists keep claiming is afoot. CIA officials, including Morell, generally have said they agreed to the edits State suggested, and it wasn’t forced. Maybe that’s all suspicious, and maybe the CIA or the Director of National Intelligence are horribly politicized and compromised — but they also make mistakes. We just don’t know. Meanwhile, Republicans, and Krauthammer in this instance, are trying to pretend the White House played a role that we have no evidence, just our own suspicions, to believe they did.
