President Barack Obama will speak about the economy on Thursday afternoon at Valencia College in Orlando, then head to Miami for fundraisers that include a $16,200-a-head Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee event at the home of former Miami Heat star Alonzo Mourning.
U.S. Rep. Ted Deutch, D-Boca Raton, helped organize the DCCC fundraiser, which will also feature House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-California, and DCCC Chairman Steve Israel, D-N.Y.
The event’s $16,200 price tag includes a cocktail reception, photo opportunity and dinner.

"Most people who indulge in name-calling know that the label or name they choose to describe another individual is not factually accurate. The label is often regarded as hyperbole or as a metaphor. At the first anti-stimulus "New American Tea Party" rally in Washington D.C., a protestor carries a sign reading "Tea Bag the Liberal Dems before they Tea Bag You!!" The Washington Independent's David Weigel calls it "the best sign I saw."

March 2
Americans for Prosperity, an anti-tax group, is one of the first Tea Party organizations to advocate sending tea bags to elected officials to protest the stimulus package. Several other lobby groups follow suit.

April 1
Several Tea Party protest sites encourage readers to "Tea bag the fools in DC." Jay Nordlinger at National Review Online later admits: "Conservatives started [using the term]... but others ran and ran with it."

April 9
Rachel Maddow is the first to mock the Tea Party's use of the phrase on her left-leaning MSNBC show. "Even Governor Mark Sanford of South Carolina is getting in on the hot tea-bagging action," she says, stifling laughter.(Watch Rachel Maddow joke about the "tea baggers")

But, if we had to choose and all we had to draw on was Obama's performance, I'd have to agree with you, we'd probably never elect another black President.

What could Florida do with $470 million extra dollars to spend?
That is the question Senate Democrats are asking now that they've calculated the state would have that money to spend if it accepted $51 billion federal Medicaid expansion dollars. They have answers, too, outlining this morning how they would spend the money.
A plan to use Medicaid expansion dollars to buy private insurance for poor Floridians was rejected by House Republicans last year. Two bills intended to reignite the issue during the 2014 session aren't going anywhere.

Tell me again how much an insurance company would add to a woman's policy for prostate care.
ObamaKKKare prohibits gender-rated policies, ignoring the reality that women have higher medical expenses than men......

so men are subsidizing coverage for women......

yet, auto insurance companies are allowed to charge lower premiums for women.....

and life insurance rates are lower for women because of longer life expectancy....

..... no clear link between the mistreatment of detainees and the information leading to Bin Laden has actually been presented – in fact, the comments from Rumsfeld, Brennan and others have pointed to the opposite, as have the White House briefings stressing the huge range of intelligence information involved.

But even if you do decide to take the facile and misleading arguments of certain Bush-era apologists at face value, that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed + waterboarding = Bin Laden, maybe spare a thought for the thousands of others put through this ordeal (and worse) at Guantánamo and CIA black sites around the world.

Big money, powerful lobbying groups push Florida voucher proposal
TALLAHASSEE — Nearly 200 schoolchildren greeted Senate President Don Gaetz last month when he visited a Catholic school in Pensacola to get a firsthand look at the impact of Florida's controversial school voucher program.
Gaetz said he left St. John the Evangelist Catholic School convinced that the Florida Legislature should expand the program, which provides private-school scholarships to low-income children. But the fate of the proposed expansion is not riding on the power of persuasion from students, parents and teachers alone.
More powerful political forces are at work in Tallahassee.

If so, would you do that in front of superior officers?
Remember, that you are bound by certain regulations to uphold the conduct of an officer, even in retirement.....well, the USAF requires it...

Electing Demorats keep the coverage for millions now covered under the ACA.

Republicans winning meaning millions will lose their coverage, the return of pre-existing conditions & premiums back to rising by double digits yearly.

Investing in the re-elections of Democrats is a good investment for those who could mot afford coverage.

How did an idiot like you ever graduate from college?

The Ukraine proves nothing. This battle has been going on since 1991 when Ukraine declared their independence from the USSR. Russia, like Palestine, has never accepted Ukrainians as separate people with the right to their own independence.(Only difference is, Ukraine surrendered their military and nuclear weapons when they declared their independence.) Considering the Palestinian/Israeli conflict has been going on since 1948, it is what we should expect. We will step in by increasing our funding to help Ukraine, just as we did with Israel, but it is important that any military actions be lead by the European Union and the United Nations...not us.
