When the media has a vested interest in protecting anyone in power, we're in big trouble.

Imagine four or five major networks like Fox News going to any lengths to get their chosen candidate elected and then helping that conservative president cover up his lies and protecting him as well as his administration by any means necessary - by simply not investigating and reporting the truth. We'd be in big trouble then too.

And then imagine one liberal-leaning cable network up against them but that one network being targeted by a far rightwing administration to try and silence them.

Anyone getting a clearer picture yet?

70% of fed spending goes directly to individuals…

(by John Merline, Investor’s Business Daily)– Buried deep in a section of President Obama’s budget, released this week, is an eye-opening fact: This year, 70% of all the money the federal government spends will be in the form of direct payments to individuals, an all-time high.
In effect, the government has become primarily a massive money-transfer machine, taking $2.6 trillion from some and handing it back out to others. These government transfers now account for 15% of GDP, another all-time high. In 1991, direct payments accounted for less than half the budget and 10% of GDP.
What’s more, the cost of these direct payments is exploding. Even after adjusting for inflation, they’ve shot up 29% under Obama.
ObamaCare, Medicare…
Where do these checks go? The biggest chunk, 38.6%, goes to pay health bills, either through Medicare, Medicaid or ObamaCare. A third goes out in the form of Social Security checks. Only 21% goes toward poverty programs — or “income security” as it’s labeled in the budget — and a mere 5% ends up in the hands of veterans.
Interestingly, despite Obama’s frequent pledges to reduce income inequality, the share of direct payments going toward “income security” has dropped from 25% in 2009 to 20% in 2014.(The average share from 1980 to 2008 was 25.4%.)
Obama’s Fiscal Year 2015 budget calls for this share to drop to just 17% by 2019, as his programs devote more and more federal tax money to middle-class entitlement programs such as ObamaCare.
Here’s another way to look at it: If all these federal direct payments went only to the poor, every person living in poverty today would receive an annual check worth $55,900.

Actually stupid, after the first Gulf war the southern and northern parts of Iran were covered by a no fly zone that would have intercepted those flights and Saddam's air force and air defenses had the rest of the country covered. Prior to the war Iraq and Iran were still on a war footing with each other and Iranian aircraft wouldn't have been allowed to cross Iraqi airspace.
And your evidence for us training Al Qaeda terrorists is what? You don't have any; you just pulled it out of your anal orifice like everything you post.
You're an idiot DB; you always have been and always will be.
Look at a map, you moron. And you obviously didn't keep up with the news about how Iran was arming Hezbollah in Lebanon with air flights from Iran across Iraq to Syria during the 90s. Bush stopped that bullshit. It didn't start again until Obama sabotaged Iraq and let Al Qaeda take over the western half of Iraq.
The "war footing" among Arabs means something entirely diffent that you assume. For instance, after the cessation of hostilities (even during hostilities, but to a lesser degree) Shi'ites from Basra all the way to Kurdistan would go back and forth across the Iraq-Iran border visiting relatives and clam members, trading, and doing things like arranging marriages. It's so loose, during the Iraq-Iran war, Iran offered to stop fighting all together if Saddam Hussien would allow the Iranian army to travel across Iraq to fight Israel. There are always things warring Arab states will agree on. One is Israel and the United States are the most importan enemies. Everything else is secondary to that.
And that describes the relationship between Iran and Iraq while Iran shipped munitions across Iraq to Syria during the 90s.

You have no clue how the Arabs think. But, keep running your ignorant diatribe.

You're an idiot.

You're like a vending machine. I insert a fact, and your gears turn and you dispense a false response. Here is western society, we call that lying.

Does anyone remember how the Boston police detained a suspect from Saudi Arabia immediately after the bombing, and the FBI took him and sent him back to Saudi Arabia the very next day?

The Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993 is a United States federal law aimed at preventing laws that substantially burden a person's free exercise of their religion.

PDupont was citing one Supreme Court case challenging that law as THE law.

No wonder he, like most liberals, sadly, are confused about everything else. The truth is just not that hard to understand or grasp. It's an aversion to the truth that leads to bigger problems - a dumb and dumber America. Sure wish it wasn't so.

Syria accuses Jordan of hosting rebel training camps
April 04, 2013|By Ned Parker

BEIRUT -- A Syrian government newspaper accused Jordan of hosting training camps for opposition fighters and warned its neighbor that it was risking getting entangled in Syria’s 2-year-old conflict.
The rebuke printed in an editorial on the front page of state-run al Thawra newspaper follows recent U.S. and British media reports that describe Jordan as providing a place for rebels to be trained with American support. Jordan has denied the existence of such training camps.
One aim of the alleged training is to create a buffer on Jordan’s border that could host fighters and help handle the flow of refugees. More than 1.2 million Syrians have fled their homeland since the start of the uprising against President Bashar Assad. More than 400,000 Syrian refugees are in Jordan.
Al Thawra said Jordan was playing a game of “double ambiguity” that was bringing it close to a state of “drowning in chaos that not even need a match to burn in all directions.”
It added Jordan was on the edge of a “volcanic crater."
The conflict in Syria has aggravated tensions in the Middle East, pitting Sunni Muslim-led states against those with ties to Shiite Muslim-dominated Iran, which is Assad's main backer.
Last month saw the Arab League seat the Syrian opposition in Assad's place at the organization's meeting in Doha.
Syria's neighbors, including Jordan, worry that the Syrian conflict pitting largely Sunni Arab rebels against Assad’s Alawite sect, an offshoot of Shiite Islam, could lead to a larger regional war.
I asked a question several months ago when it became public knowledge Obama was training Al Qaeda terrorists on a US military base in Jordan and sending them into Syria to fight against Assad's army, and as it turned out, kill the real rebels in Syria, too, as well as slaughter entire villages because they had a Christian heritage.

What happens when Syria gets fed up with Al Qaeda insurgents being trained on that US military base in Jordan and bombs it to smithereens?
You have to know Assad has captured some of them and is holding them to use in a propaganda blitz when he bombs that US military installation.

This is what happens when the White House becomes part of the Islamist terrorist netowork. The countries still fighting against Islamist terrorism will bomb our installations and kill Americans because the United States has become a terrorist country since Obama was named President.

Obama got humiliated the last time he dealt with the Syrian issue. Don't expect anything different to happen this time. The only difference will be, Obama will be getting Americans killed because they are part of the Islamist terrorist war against the west/Syria/the United States/anything not Suni Islamist terrorist.

We really have to get that fraud clown act out of the White House before they blunder into something we won't be able to get out of.
