But USA1680, let's talk about Obama's "57 states with two to go" which he didn't correct immediately - or ever.

Or "You can keep your health insurance if you like your health insurance. Period."

Think it was the emphasis on "period" that was the big mistake.

Positive News
Their grumbling was sotto voce and neither lobbyist wanted to go on the record, but four years after Michelle Obama began her fight against America's obesity epidemic, her increasingly activist campaign is clearly beginning to get under the skin of the US food industry.
The two corporate executives were sitting in the East Room of the White House watching the first lady unveil the most radical overhaul of nutritional labels in 20 years and could be overheard comparing two versions: one which emphasised even more than the other just how unhealthy processed food can be.
"What do you think?" asked the first exec, glumly. "We like one better than the other, that's for sure," replied the second, complaining that her company had received little advance warning of the proposed changes. "I am getting my head of regulation to run through it all now."
The decision for Obama to front the new rules marks a rare venture into policy-making, but the first lady made clear she was not going to let the niceties of consultation periods and stakeholder dialogue stand in her way.
"I know there will be many opinions on what this label should look like, but I think that we all can agree that families deserve more and better information about the food they eat," she told the East Room audience.
"It's important to note that no matter what the final version looks like, the new label will allow you to immediately spot the calorie count because it will be in large font, and not buried in the fine print."
The increasingly strident tone has not gone unnoticed among conservative opponents, where even her early efforts to focus on positive alternatives such as exercise and healthy eating drew scorn.
"Why would you want to raise your own kids when Michelle Obama will do it for you?" columnist Tucker Carlson asked on Fox News when she first launched the Let's Move campaign.
Rush Limbaugh called her "the nutritionist at large", busy "demanding that everybody basically eat cardboard and tofu".
There is no doubt that Let's Move has a messianic side. During an event later that day to promote exercise at a daycare centre in Maryland, Obama was greeted by a fitness instructor who had just accidentally punched a hole in the ceiling in his enthusiasm to rally a class of four- and five-year-olds.

Jarrett was on the O'Reilly Factor last night. Because O'Reilly has been on a personal mission to draw attention to the lack of black leaders sending the right messages to the black community for months and directing one of his questions about this to Obama in the Super Bowl interview, Jarrett invited O'Reilly to the big WH announcement about "My Brother's Keeper" initiative. Obama even acknowledged O'Reilly's passion about this issue at that event.

But it takes someone like O'Reilly to light a fire.

Military Groups Blast Republicans For Killing A Bill To Support Veterans
Business Insider
By Paul Szoldra 14 hours ago
National Guard
Veterans organizations are not happy with U.S. Senate Republicans today, after a bill to expand health care and education programs for veterans failed to gain enough support to move forward, Reuters reports.
From Washington Post:
The measure , sponsored by Senate Veterans Affairs Committee Chairman Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), collapsed after failing to garner enough Republican votes to waive the VA spending cap established in a budget deal Congress and President Obama approved in December. Sanders’s office estimated that the VA legislation would have cost $20 billion over 10 years.
60 votes were needed to waive the budget rule but 41 of 45 Republicans voted against it, effectively killing the bill.
Calling it "Senate Shenanigans," the non-profit Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America lamented senate leaders who were engaged in "procedural games."
"It has been a winter of discontent, starting when Congress cut military retirement benefits before being pressured into reversing course," IAVA Founder and CEO Paul Rieckhoff said in a statement. "Then earlier this week, Congress forced the Pentagon to make budget cuts that increased living costs for our service members. And now the Senate can’t pass a critical and transformative bill that includes priorities that have garnered bipartisan support for years."
And this from the American Legion:
“I don’t know how anyone who voted ‘no’ today can look a veteran in the eye and justify that vote,” American Legion national commander Daniel M. Dellinger told WaPo.“Our veterans deserve more than what they got today.”
Some Republicans reasoned that the bill would be too costly for the budget, but others, led by Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) tried to add new sanctions against Iran to the bill that the White House has strongly opposed, according to Reuters.
"The issue of Iran sanctions ... has nothing to do with the needs of veterans," Sanders told Reuters."
H.R.3590, The bill that became Obamacare originally a housing tax break for troops
The original bill that was approved by the US House of Representatives is HR 3590. It was for our service men and women. The bill passed the Republican House, and was sent to the Senate. The Democratic Senate deleted every bit of text from the bill, and changed it's purpose to their own. This is the original bill that became O'bamacare!

You liberals are POSs acting like you give a damn about the soldiers.

Greenpeace co-founder Patrick Moore tells US Senate there is "no proof" humans cause climate change

Moore didn't hold back in his Senate appearance. He quickly zeroed in on the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and strongly scolded it for claiming there is a "95-100% probability" that man "has been the dominant cause of" global warming.

Those numbers, he said, have been invented.

Wall Street threatens GOP on bank tax

Wall Street is warning Washington Republicans: The money spigot is turning off.

Rep. Dave Camp’s tax proposal — which jacked up taxes on banks and threatens the bottom line of some major private equity players in New York — has infuriated donors in high finance.

Private equity and investment firms in New York are telling key Republican players in D.C. that commitments for big-dollar fundraising have been “canceled for the foreseeable future,” according to one GOP lobbyist with knowledge of the conversations.

Lobbyists for Bank of America, Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan and others are meeting privately with lawmakers to explain what the bank tax would cost and how it would function.

Big banks want to turn Republicans against the bank tax. The situation puts the party at risk of seeing a reliable source of campaign cash dry up right in the middle of a critical election year.

Read more: http://www.politico.com/story/2014/02/wall-st...

considering that Mitt's top donors were Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, and JPMorgan, it's far from an empty threat.
