Obama Linked Benghazi to Video 3 Days After CIA Eyewitnesses Confirmed No Protest There
December 31, 2012 - 9:44 PM
( CNSNews.com )- Three days after CIA and State Department eyewitnesses reported on Sept. 15 that there had been no protest in Benghazi, Libya, before terrorists attacked the U.S. diplomatic mission and a CIA facility there on Sept. 11, President Barack Obama and White House Press Secretary Jay Carney both publicly linked the attacks, which killed four Americans, to protests against an anti-Muslim video that had been posted on YouTube.
Carney did it at the White House press briefing on Tuesday, Sept. 18, and Obama did it later that same day in a taped interview with David Letterman.
However, according to a new report by the Senate Homeland Security Committee, personnel working at the CIA "Annex" in Benghazi on Sept. 11 reported on Sept. 15 that there had been no protest in Benghazi that day, and State Department security personnel who survived the Benghazi attacks told FBI interviewers on Sept. 15 and Sept. 16 that they, too, had seen no evidence of any protest before the attacks.
At the White House briefing on Sept. 18, Carney said that there was a protest in Benghazi on Sept. 11 against the anti-Muslim YouTube video and that the attacks there were "sparked" by protests. Obama, appearing on David Letterman’s show that same day, instantly referred to the video and called its maker a “shadowy character” when Letterman asked him what had happened in Benghazi.
Also, an internal State Department email exchange on Sept. 18--the same day Carney made his claim at the White House briefing and Obama made his on Letterman—shows that State Department security officers new by that date that there had been no protest in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012.
Video recordings from the diplomatic mission’s closed-circuit television security system, according to the Senate Homeland Security Committee’s report, would also demonstrate that there had been no protest there before the terrorist attacks.
Obama and Hillary both lied, the LSM covered for them and he was re elected.
The LSM is dishonest and corrupt, they have no credibility, the are an arm of the Demorat party.

Turns out Sarah Palin was right about Russia and the Ukraine and Mitt Romney was right when he said he had a "clear eye" on Russia being a geo-political foe and didn't see them through Obama's [implied] rose-colored glasses directly to Obama's face in the debates..
Obama naively believed the Cold War was over and Putin secretly wanted to be his BFF.
Well, that's what sister sarah claims. It just goes to show even someone as dimwitted as Palin can guess right sometimes!

But, it was intriguing. And for the first time, really helped me understand the communistic workings of barack's mind, ideals, his view of America, his anti-Colonialism etc. et al. The "why" he does what he does.

So ...
A dangerous "arse" or a deliberate, dangerous subversive ...?

Not only do you not get the global warming science you right wingers also fail to understand the point of carbon pricing. It's all about making you pay for the pollution you cause so that you might think twice about buying that big suv or leaving the lights on all night. If everyone reduces their carbon footprint then climate change could stay at the stage it is at now. If not then within a few generations we will be fighting mother nature on a daily basis just to survive.

Sunken Great Lakes oil pipeline raises spill fears

By JOHN FLESHER
AP Environmental Writer

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich.(AP)-- A freshwater channel that separates Michigan's upper and lower peninsulas is a premier Midwestern tourist attraction and a photographer's delight, offering spectacular vistas of two Great Lakes, several islands and one of the world's longest suspension bridges.

But nowadays the Straits of Mackinac is drawing attention for something that is out of sight and usually out of mind, and which some consider a symbol of the dangers lurking in the nation's sprawling web of buried oil and natural gas pipelines.

Stretched across the bottom of the waterway at depths reaching 270 feet are two 20-inch pipes that carry nearly 23 million gallons of crude oil daily. They are part of the 1,900-mile Lakehead network, which originates in North Dakota near the Canadian border. A segment known as Line 5 slices through northern Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula before ducking beneath the Straits of Mackinac and winding up in Sarnia, Ontario.

The pipes were laid in 1953. They've never leaked, according to the system's owner, Enbridge Energy Partners LP, which says the lines are in good shape and pose no threat.

But a growing chorus of activists and members of Congress is demanding closer scrutiny as stepped-up production in North Dakota's Bakken region and Canada's Alberta tar sands boosts the amount of oil coursing through pipelines crossing the nation's heartland.

Concern has risen in the past year following serious spills in Arkansas and North Dakota, and as the government weighs the proposed Keystone pipeline project that would stretch from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico. The issue is especially sensitive in Michigan, where another Enbridge line ruptured in 2010, spewing more than 840,000 gallons of crude into the Kalamazoo River and a tributary creek...."

"Duke Energy receives 5 more citations weeks after coal ash spill

Coal ash spill

Coal ash from the Dan River, which swirls in the background, covers a hand. State regulators issued five more citations to Duke Energy on Monday.(Gerry Broome / Associated Press / February 5, 2014)
By David Zucchino

March 3, 2014, 6:27 p.m.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.— After weeks of downplaying a massive coal ash spill, North Carolina regulators issued violation notices Monday to five more Duke Energy power plants, in addition to two citations late last week at the site that polluted the Dan River a month ago.

Also Monday, the state Department of Environment and Natural Resources described the Feb. 2 spill as an “environmental disaster.”

The latest five citations focused on Duke Energy’s coal ash storage basins in five counties, where regulators say the giant utility failed to secure proper permits for storm water discharges. Regulators say more enforcement actions are possible as they look into the handling of coal ash at all 14 Duke-owned power plants in North Carolina.

The violations carry potential fines of $25,000 per day per violation, pending the outcome of an agency investigation.

At least 39,000 tons of coal ash and 27 million gallons of contaminated water spilled into the Dan River Feb. 2 after a storm water pipe breach at a Duke Energy plant in Eden, N.C. The spill coated the river bottom with coal ash for at least 70 miles in North Carolina and Virginia, leaving piles 5 feet deep in some locations.

Environmental groups have accused the state Department of Environment and Natural Resources of ignoring years of coal ash seepage at 32 Duke Energy coal ash storage basins. The agency cooperated closely with Duke Energy in the days after the spill, joining the utility in issuing statements that downplayed its severity.

But the agency backed down in the face of public pressure. It also backtracked on initial statements about safe surface water levels, acknowledging a week after the spill that it had detected arsenic that exceeded safe levels. And after the agency assured residents there was no danger to humans or wildlife, state health officials warned people to avoid contact with the Dan River and not eat fish taken from its waters.

Municipal water officials in two Virginia cities downstream have said normal treatment makes water from the Dan safe to drink.

Environmental groups have taken their own water samples, however, which showed levels of arsenic, lead and other heavy metals exceeding state surface water standards.

Since the Republican Party won control of the Legislature in 2010 and the governor’s office in 2012, the state environmental agency has adopted a policy of cooperating with and assisting those it regulates, entities the new agency director calls “customers.”..."

"FBI investigates former Christie advisers in bridge scandal
By Shimon Prokupecz, CNN
updated 11:24 PM EST, Mon March 3, 2014

(CNN)-- The FBI has questioned people connected to Chris Christie's former campaign manager as part of a federal probe of a traffic scandal that has upended the New Jersey governor's administration, court papers show.

Bill Stepien, in arguing why he cannot comply with a subpoena issued by a state legislative committee also investigating the scandal, said federal agents have visited his home and questioned people who know him, according to court papers.

"In recent weeks, federal criminal investigators have made their interest in him plain, traveling to his home and importuning his landlord and presumably others to provide information about his conduct and character," Stepien's lawyer, Kevin Marino, said.

Specifically, the court documents claimed that an agent called Stepien on his cell phone in January and most recently questioned his landlord.
Christie appointees joke about rabbi
Is bridge scandal another Watergate?

The FBI asked "if he was married, was a rowdy tenant, did he pay his rent on time," according to the papers.

The FBI has been investigating Bridget Anne Kelly as well, said her attorney, Michael Critchley. Kelly is another Christie appointee fighting a legislative subpoena.

Agents visited her house and spoke with her parents; they also visited her father's job last month, Critchley said.

The U.S. attorney's office in New Jersey contacted Critchley to see whether Kelly would be interested in talking, and he told them she was not, he said.

These visits are the first indications that investigators have been looking to question those with close ties to Christie.

Stepien managed both Christie gubernatorial campaigns, but Christie asked him to leave his political organization in January after his name surfaced in e-mails around the scandal involving abrupt traffic lane closures near the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee last September.

Kelly was Christie's deputy chief of staff for legislative and intergovernmental affairs, and her name surfaced in those e-mails as well. Christie fired her after the e-mails became public.

Both federal and legislative investigators are probing suggestions that top Christie appointees orchestrated the lane closures as part of a political scheme to punish the mayor of Fort Lee for not endorsing Christie for re-election...."
