Michigan's Republican-controlled legislature passed a bill on Wednesday that will require women to purchase additional insurance should they someday want abortion coverage.
Democrats dubbed it "rape insurance,"
So, yes, unfortunately, the invisible war on women that doesn't exist will, sadly enough, continue. It's all you guys got.
And just how is this noxious piece of legislation not proof that the GOP war on women in fact exists you clueless twit? Here's some more examples;
A state legislator in Georgia wants to change the legal term for victims of rape, stalking, and domestic violence to "accuser." But victims of other less gendered crimes, like burglary, would remain "victims."
In South Dakota, Republicans proposed a bill that could make it legal to murder a doctor who provides abortion care.
Republicans want to cut nearly a billion dollars of food and other aid to low-income pregnant women, mothers, babies, and kids.
In Congress, Republicans have a bill that would let hospitals allow a woman to die rather than perform an abortion necessary to save her life.
Maryland Republicans ended all county money for a low-income kids' preschool program. Why? No need, they said. Women should really be home with the kids, not out working.
Two-thirds of the elderly poor are women, and Republicans are taking aim at them too. A spending bill would cut funding for employment services, meals, and housing for senior citizens.
Congress just voted for a Republican amendment to cut all federal funding from Planned Parenthood health centers, one of the most trusted providers of basic health care and family planning in our country.
Republicans are pushing to eliminate all funds for the only federal family planning program.(For humans. But Republican Dan Burton has a bill to provide contraception for wild horses.)
Of course the "war on Christmas is totally real isn't it Carol?

In other words, if you are 55-64, and depending on what state you are in and what services you use, Medicaid may not be an insurance program: it is a loan.
If you are going to transfer your estate to your heirs you must do it at least 5 years before you die. They can still take the property even if you have given it to someone else. I learned this dealing with dad's stuff.

Obama Repeals ObamaCare
Under pressure from Senate Democrats, the President partly suspends the individual mandate.
Dec. 20, 2013 6:41 p.m. ET
It seems Nancy Pelosi was wrong when she said "we have to pass" ObamaCare to "find out what's in it." No one may ever know because the White House keeps treating the Affordable Care Act's text as a mere suggestion subject to day-to-day revision. Its latest political retrofit is the most brazen: President Obama is partly suspending the individual mandate.
The White House argued at the Supreme Court that the insurance-purchase mandate was not only constitutional but essential to the law's success, while refusing Republican demands to delay or repeal it. But late on Thursday, with only four days to go before the December enrollment deadline, the Health and Human Services Department decreed that millions of Americans are suddenly exempt.
Individuals whose health plans were canceled will now automatically qualify for a "hardship exemption" from the mandate. If they can't or don't sign up for a new plan, they don't have to pay the tax. They can also get a special category of ObamaCare insurance designed for people under age 30.
***
So merry Christmas. If ObamaCare's benefit and income redistribution requirements made your old, cheaper, better health plan illegal, you now have the option of going without coverage without the government taking your money as punishment. You can also claim the tautological consolation of an ObamaCare hardship exemption due to ObamaCare itself.
These exemptions were supposed to go only to the truly destitute such as the homeless, bankrupts or victims of domestic violence. But this week a group of six endangered Senate Democrats importuned HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to "clarify" that the victims of ObamaCare also qualify. An excerpt from their Wednesday letter, whose signatories include New Hampshire's Jeanne Shaheen and Virginia's Mark Warner, is nearby.
HHS and the Senators must have coordinated in advance because literally overnight HHS rushed out a bulletin noting that exemptions are available to those who "experienced financial or domestic circumstances, including an unexpected natural or human-caused event, such that he or she had a significant, unexpected increase in essential expenses that prevented him or her from obtaining coverage under a qualified health plan." A tornado destroys the neighborhood or ObamaCare blows up the individual insurance market, what's the difference?
The HHS ruling is that ObamaCare is precisely such a "significant, unexpected increase." In other words, it is an admission that rate shock is real and the mandates drive up costs well into hardship territory. HHS is agreeing with the Senators that exemptions should cover "an individual whose 2013 plan was canceled and considers their new premium unaffordable." In her reply letter, Mrs. Sebelius also observes that some people "are having difficulty finding an acceptable replacement." She means the new plans are overpriced.
The under-30 ObamaCare category that is being opened to everyone is called "catastrophic" coverage. These plans are still more expensive than those sold on the former market but they're about 20% cheaper on average than normal exchange plans because fewer mandates apply and they're priced for a healthier, younger risk pool. Liberal Democrats hated making even this concession when they wrote the law, so people who pick catastrophic plans don't get subsidies.
Seems our way of health care is becoming the norm after all.

The murder of innocent people continued in Syria as entire families are murdered last week. The atrocities happened about 12 miles northwest of Damascus and were committed by Jabhat al-Nusra and Liwa Al-Islam fighters.

RT reports entire families were wiped out by al-Nusra and Liwa Al-Islam fighters. Some of the methods by which the terrorists murdered included the use of bakery ovens.

Military sources within the Syrian military said, "armed groups have performed an execution of civilians” in Adra. RT's Arabic correspondent Abutaleb Albohaya in Syria said,

for now it’s established that over 80 people were killed in the areas now taken over by the army. Often whole families were murdered.
Albohaya also stressed, "some families were kidnapped in order to be used as human shields in areas where the Syrian army is now trying to free the civilians." According to the report, artillery isn't being used against the terrorists to prevent civilian casualties.

As of this report, the military is in the process of clearing out the town by searching every house. Assad's forces are said to have already freed "dozens of Alawite, Druze, and Christian families from the rebels."

The terrorists have started moving those who will be used as human shields south toward Douma. This is a strategic area where heavily armed rebel fortifications are located.

The number of people murdered in Adra is expected to rise as government forces "recover the town." The stories of the atrocities committed by al-Nusra and Liwa Al-Islam are as violent and merciless as ever. One local resident Muhammad Al-Said told RT,

The situation was terrible - with killing, atrocities, and fear as the background. Unidentified armed men came into town, but it was obvious that they were Jabhat al-Nusra militants.
Al-Said then added an almost unbelievable statement,

The worst crime they committed was that they toasted people in ovens used to bake bread when those people came to buy it.
According to the eyewitness, Al-Said, "the rebels committed the atrocities so they could place blame on government forces." He also said that citizens of Adra are, "waiting for Syrian troops to save us from the terrorists, who came from other countries.”

It was reported that many fled to Damascus, while the elderly, mothers with infants and the sick people hid in their basements trying to escape the terrorists. Tragedies like this one in Adra are being blamed, in part, to the "foreign encouragement of rebel forces," according to Patrick Henningsen a geopolitical analyst.

Hensingsen told RT,

What it does indicate… is that there is involvement by the western intelligence agencies that have links to some of those radical jihadist groups.
He added, "and that has been proven throughout history and is also the case today. The first thing that needs to happen for any peace talks to succeed is that Western governments cannot be involved in any way, shape or form, either through proxies or through the intelligence agencies or third parties in arming, financing, giving aid of any kind to the Syrian opposition.”

Reality set in too late.
Sure Carol, he did such a bang up job as Governor of Massachusetts that he left office with a 37% approval rating. He was also a hypocrite. while in college he was a booster of the Vietnam war and the draft but only for other people. He spent his time as a missionary in France. When running for the GOP nomination in 2008 he was asked why his sons weren't serving in uniform he replied that they were serving their country by campaigning for him. Arrogant much?
