Albuquerque voters recently came out in support of late-term abortion. Two clinics in Albuquerque perform late-term abortions.

No wonder the Gosnell's of this world exist.

If it's okay to kill babies who are viable outside the womb, what's the big deal killing them when they're actually outside the womb?

Legalizing barbarism in one phase of development opens the door to legalizing it in all phases of barbarism.

Good morning.

At first, I believed Zimmerman caused the death of Trayvon. He left his house with a gun. Got hammered on here for not backing down.
It wasn't until I read the transcript between Zimmerman and the dispatcher all the way through that it became clear the police had agreed to meet Zimmerman at a designated location in the apartment complex...which had changed from the beginning of the conversation.
If Trayvon hadn't been the one on top, I'd probably still think Zimmerman overreacted. And maybe he did. But Trayvon was still the one on top. He should have gone home. No one would have know who he was then or now.
The difference. Is that there is no doubt that Zimmermn killed that boy. He admitted it. You think he had the right to kill him. The jury decided that as well.
Skakel was found guilty and now will get a new trial. There was no definitive proof that he did it.

Why do you admonish me for responding to posters who just want to antagonize when you are guilty of doing the very same?

No one was there to see exactly what happened. Unfortunately, Trayvon didn't know that neighborhood had been targeted by theft perpetrated by young black men or he may have understood why Zimmerman had focused on him so intensely. It might have curbed his bad attitude toward Zimmerman which the Defense witness testified he had.

What if Zimmerman was telling the truth and Trayvon saw the gun and was trying to go for it?

That's something we'll never know. It was a sad tragedy, nothing more.

It was the liberal media who sparked a new racial current of hatred in this country because of it. No one else did that.

With George Zimmerman out on bail last week after his latest run-in with police, it seems an opportune time to discuss the second killing of Trayvon Martin.

The first, of course, has been discussed ad infinitum since Zimmerman shot the unarmed 17-year-old to death last year. But then Trayvon was killed again. The conservative noise machine engaged in a ritual execution of his character and worth, setting out with breathtaking indifference to facts and callous disregard for simple decency to murder the memory of a dead child.

Geraldo Rivera blamed him for his own death because he wore a hooded sweatshirt — in the rain, yet. Glenn Beck’s website suggested he might have been an arsonist, kidnapper or killer. Rush Limbaugh made jokes about “Trayvon Martin Luther King.”

...

One woman forwarded a chain email depicting a tough-looking, light-skinned African-American man with tattoos on his face. It was headlined:“The Real Trayvon Martin,” which it wasn’t. It was actually a then-32-year-old rapper who calls himself The Game. But the message was clear: Trayvon was a scary black man who deserved what he got.

I sent that woman an image of Trayvon from the Zimmerman trial. It shows him lying open-eyed and dead on the grass.“ This is the real Trayvon,” I wrote.

It was a waste of time.“They’re both pictures of Trayvon,” she insisted. So deeply, bizarrely invested was she in the idea of Trayvon as thug that she could not distinguish between a fair-skinned man with tattoos, and a brown boy with no visible markings. Literally, they all look alike to her.

And once again, a conservative movement which argues with airy assurance that American racism died long ago, disproves its thesis with its actions.

Michigan GOP Recruits Civil Rights Act Critic Rand Paul To Launch African American Outreach Project

After Paul’s disastrous attempt at the historically-black Howard University in April to convince the African Americans to vote for the GOP, Paul seems unlikely to win many of the 97.5 percent of Detroit voters who backed President Obama last year, regardless of their race.

You were correct and the deal with Iran the Bozo Obama and his lackey Lurch John "Heinz" Kerry were part of is yet another example of how Obama is putting everyone in danger.

Legalizing barbarism in one phase of development opens the door to legalizing barbarism in all phases of barbarism.

Sorry if this is true, but there's a movement underway already to legalize Gosnell's type of barbarism.

The door only has to be opened a jar first.

Even most liberals don't condone Gosnell's type of barbarism.

Most liberals don't even condone late-term abortions. Anyone here who does?

3 Charts Explain Why Democrats Went Nuclear on the Filibuster

No one has completely clean hands when it comes to filibusters in the Senate. Democrats have used them and Republicans have used them. But hoo boy, Republicans sure have used them more. That's why Democrats went nuclear on Thursday. Three charts tell the story.

The first two charts show the evolution of filibusters by presidential administration. As you can see, their use rose steadily through the '80s and then leveled off starting around 1990. Democrats mainly kept things pretty stable throughout the Bush administration, increasing the number of filibusters only in his last two years when a change of power seemed imminent. When Obama took over, however, there was no honeymoon, not even for a minute. Republicans went into full-bore filibuster mode the day he took office, and they've kept it up ever since. For all practical purposes, anything more controversial than renaming a post office has required 60 votes during the entire Obama presidency.

But it was Republican filibusters of judicial and executive-branch nominees that finally drove Democrats to act on Thursday. Democrats had struck one deal after another with Republicans to try and rein in their abuse of the filibuster, but nothing worked. A few nominees would get through, and then another batch would promptly get filibustered. The chart below tells the tale. Under George Bush, Democrats mounted filibusters on 38 of his nominees. That's about five per year. Under Obama, Republicans have filibustered an average of 16 nominees per year.

The last straw came when Republicans announced their intention to filibuster all of Obama's nominees to the DC circuit court simply because they didn't want a Democratic president to be able to fill any more vacancies. At that point, even moderate Democrats had finally had enough. For all practical purposes, Republicans had declared war on Obama's very legitimacy as president, forbidding him from carrying out a core constitutional duty. Begging and pleading and cutting deals was no longer on the table. Eliminating the filibuster for judicial and executive branch nominees was the only option left, and on Thursday that's what Democrats finally did.

the only question is...why did they wait so long?

Limbaugh Defends Offensive Rape Comments By Hiding Behind "Absurdity" Defense

After Rush Limbaugh compared recently enacted filibuster reform to a vote "allow[ing] women to be raped," a spokesman defended the host by saying, "Limbaugh has spent 25 years illustrating absurdity by using extrapolated analogies." Indeed, Limbaugh has a long history of making outrageous, offensive comparisons and invoking rape when discussing politics.

Guess I ran off Galt again. Not sure why he holds such a grudge against anyone who doesn't see eye-to-eye with him on some social issues.

This all started because I am pro-life. He seems to think being against abortion will determine the outcome of elections. I don't agree.

Anti-abortionists are on both sides of the fence. But only the liberal side wants to make a political issue out of it come election time.

Conservative candidates should make a point of pointing that out during the next two elections.

But everyone is entitled to their opinion on something as controversial as abortion without being demonized by someone on the same side of the fence. We get enough of that from the other side.

barbarism....

Tea Party Mantra; Save the Embryo, Forget About the Children

....it’s abundantly clear that children and by extension, women, are at the bottom of the chain of concern to Teapublicans. Come 2014 and 2016, Democrats can actually campaign on a truth platform. The truth is that the opposing party by cruel cuts in programs for children, women, the unemployed, the poor and minorities, by right-wing enthusiasm for weakening regulations that would lower pollution and markedly decrease asthma and countless other respiratory consequences, by attempting to destroy the Affordable Health Care Act and hand entitlements to the financial private sector, by hatred of public schools and by a zeal for wars to benefit the Cheney-types in our population, has no interest in you or your kid’s well-being.
