Signs the Progressive Economy is on fire and the Firestone's and Goodyear's are rolling over in the grave!

"Overall passenger tire imports rose 5 percent to 120.1 million units, falling just shy of the record of 120.6 million in 2010, the Commerce Department data show. Chinese-sourced tires represented nearly one-fourth of all passenger tire imports last year, up from one-fifth in 2011."

If the avg tire is $75 bucks...
Lots of money going to China...

The shutdown could have been avoided if he had agreed to a delay before it happened instead of afterwards.
But continuing to blame Republicans after five years is a hard habit to break. Even with a democratic-controlled Congress for the first two years, he still blamed Republicans.
We can only imagine how hard it must be to break the addiction now.
Once again nitwit, the GOP wanted the whole legislation delayed. The only thing that the administration and Democrats agreed to is an extension of the enrolment due to the rocky roll out.
If Obama had folded on the ACA what were the GOP gangsters going to hold hostage next? Social Security? Medicare?

I have a problem with your last statement. For some reason, it was the Democrat-controlled Congress that selected him to succeed Nixon, and they knew Nixon would never finish his term when they did that. I don't think anyone on the Warren Commission served the country honorably. RINOs are not a recent phenomenon. McCain served the country honorably until he went to Washington.
If for no other reason, an unelected president is something shameful in a country like ours, and there should never be any precedent or honor assiciated with that. The fact that he presided over the world-wide retreat of the United States during the Cold War is even more of a case.

For sure your math teacher was Carol! Average retail price has zero to do with cost to manufacture overseas.

The Firestones sold out__Matthew is presently a part time developer residing in Leesburg VA and Wellington Florida's horsey set country. The other heirs are living in equal comfort.

Goodyear remains an American company__sort of__and Cooper is engaged in a complicated sale with a company from India.

Many other American auto related companies bailed or took on foreign partners due to NAFTA, a Republican initiative which was signed into law by Bill Clinton.

The globe stopped warming a while back. They just kept milking it for all it was worth for as long as they could. But that liberal udder dried up completely.
According to who Carol? Groups backed by the Koch brothers?
• Average temperatures have climbed 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit (0.8 degree Celsius) around the world since 1880, much of this in recent decades, according to NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies.
• The rate of warming is increasing. The 20th century's last two decades were the hottest in 400 years and possibly the warmest for several millennia, according to a number of climate studies. And the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports that 11 of the past 12 years are among the dozen warmest since 1850.
• The Arctic is feeling the effects the most. Average temperatures in Alaska, western Canada, and eastern Russia have risen at twice the global average, according to the multinational Arctic Climate Impact Assessment report compiled between 2000 and 2004.
• Arctic ice is rapidly disappearing, and the region may have its first completely ice-free summer by 2040 or earlier. Polar bears and indigenous cultures are already suffering from the sea-ice loss.
• Glaciers and mountain snows are rapidly melting—for example, Montana's Glacier National Park now has only 27 glaciers, versus 150 in 1910. In the Northern Hemisphere, thaws also come a week earlier in spring and freezes begin a week later.
• Coral reefs, which are highly sensitive to small changes in water temperature, suffered the worst bleaching—or die-off in response to stress—ever recorded in 1998, with some areas seeing bleach rates of 70 percent. Experts expect these sorts of events to increase in frequency and intensity in the next 50 years as sea temperatures rise.
• An upsurge in the amount of extreme weather events, such as wildfires, heat waves, and strong tropical storms, is also attributed in part to climate change by some experts.
The recent typhoon in the Philippines was the strongest ever recorded and as ocean temperatures rise we can expect more such storms.

Unfortunately for you, Tea Party nuts like Christine O'Donnell have become the norm.
Christine O'Donnell:
"American scientific companies are cross-breeding humans and animals and coming up with mice with fully functioning human brains."
"It is not enough to be abstinent with other people, you also have to be abstinent alone. The Bible says that lust in your heart is committing adultery. You can't masturbate without lust!... You're going to be pleasing each other. And if he already knows what pleases him and he can please himself, then why am I in the picture?"
"I dabbled into witchcraft — I never joined a coven. But I did, I did... I dabbled into witchcraft. I hung around people who were doing these things. I'm not making this stuff up. I know what they told me they do... One of my first dates with a witch was on a satanic altar, and I didn't know it. I mean, there's little blood there and stuff like that. We went to a movie and then had a midnight picnic on a satanic altar."
"By integrating women into particularly military institutes, it cripples the readiness of our defense. Schools like The Citadel train young men to confidently lead other young men into a battlefield where one of them will die. And when you have women in that situation, it creates a whole new set of dynamics which are distracting to training these men to kill or be killed."
Then there are these:
Rick Lott: "I've always been fascinated by the fact that here was a relatively small country (Nazi Germany) that from a strictly military point of view accomplished incredible things."
Joe Miller: "The first thing that has to be done is secure the border ... East Germany was very, very able to reduce the flow. Now, obviously, other things were involved. We have the capacity to, as a great nation, secure the border. If East Germany could, we could."
Glen Urquhart: "Do you know, where does this phrase 'separation of church and state' come from? It was not in Jefferson's letter to the Danbury Baptists.... The exact phrase 'separation of Church and State' came out of Adolph Hitler's mouth, that's where it comes from. So the next time your liberal friends talk about the separation of Church and State, ask them why they're Nazis."
Stephen Broden: "Our nation was founded on violence. The option is on the table. I don't think that we should ever remove anything from the table as it relates to our liberties and our freedoms."
