You realize most of this is simply a list of generalized symptons without having provided any facts showing Carter as a causal factor. So as I suspected, you were not up to the challenge.
First, Carter inherited high inflation from Gerald Ford.
High interest rates were the decision of FRB Chairman Paul Volcker and this, more THAN ANYTHING Carter did, triggered the recession.
Consider this. Reagan liked Volcker so much, he reappointed him. Possible payback for Volcker having sunk the Carter presidency? I think so.
Ask yourself this. Why would Reagan want the same FRB Chairman who caused the economic breakdown (and was key in Reagan's victory)?
Lousy foreign policy? I asked you for specifics and all you do is provide some biased bottom-line verdict. You do know what specifics are, don't you?
Micro-manager? What does that mean? I want facts, hon, facts. Not your ratty conclusions.
Didn't like playing by the rules? Like what exactly? Seems you've forgotten who was responsible for Watergate and Iran-Contra.
Rising energy prices were a result of newly formed OPEC, which was able to manipulate the market by keeping output low.
Stagflation? You're being redundant as this is simply another form of inflation.
Sorry, Carol. Nothing you provide shows a connection between Carter's direct actions and the economic downturn which followed.
And he sure didn't leave behind two unfinished wars and 11.4 trillion in debt.
Now sit in the corner with the rest of the GOP dunces.
Pretend this is you and me. You're the one on the left.

I just happened to see a video that made me extremely angry. I'm going to be mad just thinking about it for days.

Those guys would have had to rope and hog tie me and I'd still find a way to kick their sorry asses to kingdom come or die the frick trying.

Shit. I'm so pissed off I can't even see straight.

I say let's go to Mexico, find these Mexicans who have no heart and no soul and chase them until they get tripped by a rope and fall head over hills a few dozen times and break a few bones in the process.

Who the hell's with me????

I'm writing somebody about this and raising some hell. Apparently, this is occurring in several states as well - like Nevada and California.

Somebody's gonna hear from me about this and wish the hell they hadn't.

Everyone who cares a whit about animals, write or call Senator Mark Manendo in Nevada and raise hell about stopping this cruel and heartless treatment of horses.

And please go to this website and sign the petition.

I'm not finished looking into this. I'm calling the sponsors of these rodeos and anyone connected to putting on these rodeos and giving them an earful they soon won't forget.

I'm ashamed to call myself a human being when other human beings have no soul and no heart and act worse than animals who do.

Sorry guys, but I'm done for the evening. I'm much too upset right now.

Stagflation is NOT "inflation". It's a stagnant economy, just like what we have now...and the term of the era it originally referenced was in part as a result of the "OIL EMBARGO" of the era.
Then why use the word "flation" as part of the word? Wouldn't "stagnant" be enough? In other words, it should be intuitive that there's a reason for having "flation" in there.

If you one course in economics, you'd know "stagflation" is not just a slow economy, but one accompanied by rising costs (inflation). So you're only half right.
Lousy Foreign Policy-Libya. We had NO business going "there" to start with.
We were not "in" Libya.
Add to that eased sanctions on Iran. Is there some credible reason as to WHY sanctions would be eased, when there's been no compliance as far as nuclear production activities?
Carter did not "ease" economic sanctions against Iran. He implemented and maintained them. The pressure was sufficient to obtain release of the hostages. As for Iran's nuclear activities in 1979-1980, they were virtually non-existent. On nobody's radar screen.
Carter was a TRUE diplomat and intellect, a humane and decent being- with a "resume" to prove it.
I think he showed good judgement not to interfere with the regime change in Iran. It was during his administration that a national oil reserve was established.

Now you are being dishonest. I am Roman Catholic and do not apologize for that fact. But I challenge you to bring up a post where I support abortion/murder or gay marriage. Just one. I have better things to do. You are wrong again when you say I do not recognize the Socialist nature of my church. I would far rather give monies to my church rather than the Federal government, I see the results of our giving to folks in need. I see no positives from the dollars taken from citizens that are pissed away on failed social, fill their hands programs. Those programs do just one thing, build on the sit on your fannie mantra that far to many American's depend on.
Peace
I'm an ex catholic, even I wouldn't deny the church does many, many good things for the world. They should let priests marry to rid themselves of homosexuals, however.

I see no positives from the dollars taken from citizens that are pissed away on tax-exempt groups like Catholic Charities to subsidize their "charitable" work. It much better to spend those millions to support social welfare programs than help the Catholic church build up its coffers.
