Mormon Church Taking Over in Florida
By Kevin Spear, Orlando Sentinel

The Mormon church stands to own nearly 2 percent of Florida by completing a deal to buy most of the real estate of the St. Joe Co. for more than a half-billion dollars.
The megapurchase was announced jointly Thursday by a corporate representative of church, which owns the nearly 295,000-acre Deseret Ranches in Central Florida, and by the real-estate and timber business, which has built several communities along the Panhandle coast.
According to the announcement, a church entity, AgReserves Inc., will buy 382,834 acres – the majority of St. Joe's timberlands – in Bay, Calhoun, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty and Wakulla counties for $565 million.
Completion of the deal will leave the Utah-based church with 678,000 acres, an area larger than any other private holding in Florida, according to widely shared but unconfirmed rankings of top landowners.
AgReserves Inc., a taxpaying company of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will maintain timber and agricultural uses of the Panhandle acreage, according to the announcement.
So Romney was just a ruse to distract us from this pending purchase. Very clever.

Yes, it is, because people who retire early without sufficient assets are always lining up for handouts.

actually, Bush was never elected by the people. the Court picked W the first time after Gore won the popular vote.

the second was won on the back of voter fraud.

and as with holding with tea party rules....implied voter fraud can be nothing but the truth because......well, just because.

Akin was Republican candidate for US Senate in Missouri, hardly inconsequential. Anybody but an idiot would have won that election against a DemoKKKrat who was widely despised.
Don't blame the media. Akin shot himself in the balls by repeating what he had been taught in his church. Akin had no mind of his own, just his evangelical religion.
If you try and muzzle and ignore the religious folk in the Republican Party you'll never win another election. They are your base, live with it.

Aa an aside I'm sure there are some truly good conservative ideas on how to cut spending and reduce government and Homer would probably support some of them but using the Tea Party as a vehicle to try and implement these things is only going to drive more people away.

You are trying to come in with a hammer, what you need is some diplomacy and tact both sorely lacking with the Tea Baggers.

So you really DO think only those on the right are Christians and, therefore, the ONLY ones against abortion...and every single person on the left are atheists and pro-choice?

Do you really seriously think that?

Nothing government gets involved in works better or ends up costing less, that much we know.
Why you think Obamacare is going to be so great, just shows hat little zombies you on the left are.
I've been to some tag agencies where the line was out the door.

And hubby did have to wait a few hours after swinging by after work.

Realtime is making the mistake of thinking doctors' offices and ERs won't be overflowing making the longest lines at tag agencies look like a short line at a fast food chain.

Not really. Romney and other Republicans should have demanded that Akin withdraw from the race, and forced him out by any means necessary if he refused. Just as Torricelli was forced out in New Jersey at the last minute.

Republicans were afraid of offending the religious nuts who really believe that stuff.
