How is delaying the individual mandate for a year "responsible"?<quoted text>
All the Dems have to do is act responsible and delay the individual mandate for a year, agree to reduce the debt and sit a limit on the debt ceiling.
The first one makes it fair to working families.
Without the last two we will get a hit in credit ratings.
Health insurance companies have expended a great deal of capital setting up their plans and getting their computer systems in sync with the exchange. CMS has already committed millions on the system over five - ten years. Contracts have been signed. The "responsible" thing to do is to go forward. What's fair to working families is to have the opportunity relax knowing that they won't go bankrupt due to a health insurance emergency. What isn't fair is allowing a handful of self-righteous politicians hold America for ransom.
