Barack Obama, our next President

<quoted text>Liberalism should be given an award for what it did to Detroit. A big trophy with all the liberals' names inscribed on it for history's sake.
Whatever do you mean? We are so proud even though Detroit is a city on the brink of ruination.

At the center of that ruination is 50 years of Democrat rule. A Democrat Jerome Cavanagh, brought the “Model City” program — fashioned after Soviet Union centralized efforts to transform entire urban areas at once — to a nine-square-mile section of the city. Using a commuter tax and a new income tax as his vehicle, Cavanagh promised residents “the rich” would pay for it all. Yet because people were being told by government how to run their businesses and their lives, in exchange for government goodies, the program ended up failing spectacularly.

In 1967, after police broke up a celebration at an after hours club, an enraged neighborhood began to riot, igniting the worst race riot of the decade. Black-owned business were looted and burned to the ground. Forty people were killed and 5,000 were left homeless, and the “white flight” out of the city center, totaling 140,000 people over an eighteen month period, ensued. The city was never the same.

Thank God we still don’t racially profile with Stop & Frisk. It is so wrong.

An unbroken series of Democratic mayors followed, all of whom had a hand in implementing the full panoply of progressive policies, highlighted by the giveaways to public service employees. Their outlandish salaries and benefit packages, coupled with highly inefficient work rules, killed the golden goose: the auto industry, and its attendant industrial community headed South, where lower taxes and right-to-work rules kept their businesses afloat.

The same swath of progressive policies destroyed the public school system as well. Perhaps nothing illustrates the corrupting influence of those policies better than the Detroit Federation of Teachers’ success in scuttling a $200 million offer by businessman and philanthropist Robert Thompson to build 15 charter schools in the city in 2003.

Ten years later, the Detroit Public School (DPS) system remains a cesspool of failure, corruption and bankruptcy and we couldn't be prouder.

If you are unwilling to read the court case you referenced and, instead, insist on quoting from biased sources, debating with you is an exercise in futility and a waste of my time.
One final time...excerpts from the Supreme Court opinion in Nestor:
“the right to federal social security benefits is a statutory, conditional right, which the possessor enjoys subject to all the conditions which Congress has attached and may attach.”
“The right to alter, amend, or repeal any provision of this Act is hereby reserved to the Congress”......“No contractual obligation on the part of the Government and no contractual right of a beneficiary could coexist with this reservation of power...."
“subject to amendment or repeal as Congress in its wisdom feels will best promote the general welfare"...
"Particularly when we deal with a withholding of a noncontractual benefit under a social welfare program such as this, we must recognize that the Due Process Clause can be thought to interpose a bar only if the statue manifests a patently arbitrary classification, utterly lacking in rational justification.”
Got it? Social Security benefits are not "property" but they a "noncontractural benefit". Yes, there is no money-back guarantee but Congress cannot arbitrarily amend it at will.
I doubt that any court would agree that the FACT that the government borrowed from the Social Security trust fund and can't pay back the debt is "rational justification" for doing away with Social Security.
That is right from your own post"“The right to alter, amend, or repeal any provision of this Act is hereby reserved to the Congress”......“No contractual obligation on the part of the Government and no contractual right of a beneficiary could coexist with this reservation of power...." and is right that Social Security Benefits are not Guaranteed or entitlted Congress, and the President can reduce or eliminate Social Security at any time.

The Generational Theft Act (a/k/a Porkulus) cost somewhere between $821 billion and $3.27 trillion, depending on the accounting method. In any accounting, the cost of Porkulus is greater than the cost of the war in Iraq. The total cost is still running because of built-in spending increases.

So we weren't threatened on 9/11?
And Hillary was wrong when she spoke on the Senate Floor in 2002 when she emphatically stated, "Saddam Hussein provided aid, comfort and sanctuary to terrorists including al-Qaeda members...if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare and will keep trying to develop chemical weapons..."?
Before she became a weasel for personal and political gain, I mean?
Yes, we should have had a better strategy in the event of a strong resurgence by Saddam's thugs and al-Qaeda making Iraq the frontlines. But the initial mission was, in fact, accomplished, and there are no crystal balls in war. Even Obama was forced to admit in an interview with O'Reilly the surge worked.
But Obama's early withdrawal of all troops in Iraq just threw all our precious blood and treasure right out the window.
Hillary and others believed the lying weasel Bush when he said he would pursue a U.N. Resolution and pursue all avenues necessary to prevent war. No one envisioned that Bush would be stupid enough to wage a preemptive war. Bush lied. Soldiers died.

Twenty billion $ slam dunk, they'll be throwing rose petals and the oil revenue will pay the reconstruction.

As a result of the BushCo lies congress approved emergency funding for an invasion that many knew would become both a military and financial disaster. Emergency funding does not consider the replacement of equipment, ordinance, future veterans benefits and health care or "interest" in the case of Iraq, "interest" on money borrowed from China.

BushCo borrowed money from China to invade Iraq__Iraq, a nation that had zero to do with 911.

Another thing there has never been a Social Security Trust Fund just on paper which the Clinton Adminstration admitted in their 2000 fiscal year budget that it is just an accounting practice since 1937 is all and all taxes collected by the US Federal Government go into the US Treasury General Fund just like Social Security taxes do which has been that way since 1937 when the SCOTUS handed down their ruling in Helvering v. Davis

Great post. Your cynicism is an art piece.

Remember STRESS?(Stop The Robberies Enjoy Safe Streets)

Police decoys would walk the streets posing as derelicts and drunks. When they were attacked, cops would move in to arrest.
Streets were becoming safer in Detroit as a result of STRESS.

Problem: ALL the arrests involved black males. The jails were full up with black males. So the NAACP stepped in, local black racist leaders and groups threatened riots and so STRESS was disbanded and the robberies went back through the roof to where they were before.

Trayvon has been on the Urban Reservation forever.

And we're proud of it:)
