Ecuador makes a lot more sense. Disappointed he didn't go to Iceland, I have high hopes for Iceland's role in the info wars.

Investigative journalism is essential.
The fact that Obama is trying to crush both raises serious questions as to why.
Why? This is the logical continuation of Congress' ceding of authority to the Executive, been going on for the last century. The shickenchits set up Presidents to take the fall for their failures, that is when they're not busy riding their coattails. Sure, Congressional approval may be flirting with single digits but in 2014 the majority of individual members will be re-elected.

5 Reasons to Attend Army Whistleblower Bradley Manning’s Trial
Please note that this next week court is not in session on Monday (6/24), Tuesday will be a short day, and the trial will resume as normal Wednesday (6/26) at 9:30 am, with the weekly vigil taking place from 7-8 am that day. Livestream trial update today at 5 pm EST
#1: Show The Judge The Public Is Watching Her
At the beginning of each day of trial, the prosecuting attorney stands and reads to the court information about the levels of public attendance. During most days of the court martial, seats have remained free in the courtroom, and the overflow trailer which provides video feed of the proceedings has remained unused. We hope you’ll help us to change this.
Judge Lind knows that a high-profile case like this one will be part of her legacy. She’s not supposed to read any news about the trial, but there’s no more direct way to show her the importance that her decisions will have for the public than by members of the public taking it upon themselves to fill up her courtroom.
#2: Your Attendance Means A Lot To Bradley And His Lawyer
Bradley Manning is a 25 year old with a conscience who has already spent three years of his life behind bars, and faces potential life imprisonment, all for trying to serve the public good. Despite the gravity of his situation, he maintains optimism, and his attorney David Coombs has explained that his supporters have a lot to do with that...

And if NSA snooping couldn't catch the Boston bombers, who can they catch?
My point exactly. If this was so important and effective why all these missed targets who had left their fingerprints all over the exact places PRISM was watching? How about Snowden, Manning et. al.? I find it hard to swallow that the program performed as they're claiming it did, I wouldn't expect them to come out and say it was a flop.

Correct.
So why do we do it?
So that we can elect and re-elect politicians; they know we have an aversion to uncertainty. Our grand parents just wanted a chicken in their pot but that's how snowballs start.

All it means is that no system is foolproof. What is accomplished by the general public being privy to all national security programs? Our enemies or terror groups are being educated in our weak points. Nidal was suspect; however, do we arrest every person who is acting weird ? He was a US citizen in the military.
The Boston bombers story is intriguing and I'm not convinced that the Russians actually warned anyone; perhaps they were sent on their mission by the Russians, and furthermore may be connected to the Syria debacle. Anyone who trusts Putin and the Ruusians is insane.
Why does the general public support a government who creates all these spy agencies and turn them on their own citizenry to protect them from enemies the same government created?

How about just not making enemies?

Now what? From what I can see, still the same results.
Not sure what you mean. Every power plant, even base providers, shut down periodically for maintenance. These outages are planned ten years out and the grid is managed to support them. The reason good supplemental sources like wind and solar can't be used for base load generation is 'cause the wind doesn't blow and the sun doesn't shine 24/7. Its possible to store the energy from solar and wind but then you add the inefficiency of storage on top of the inefficiency of generation and it quickly becomes unfeasible.

Everett Dirksen and Bob Dole were good men, middle-of-the-road Republicans, but unfortunately content to go along with Democrats as a permanent minority. Just like McCain and Romney.
Dwight Eisenhower ran as a Republican on the Republican ticket so however you want to slice it he was a Republican.
The GOP is dooming itself to minority status by pandering to the extreme right and wasting time and taxpayer money pushing legislation in the House that has zero chance of going anywhere.

Morning, Vladimir, and now that your radical Socialist (AKA Democrat) Party pushes legislation such as Obozocare (Unaffordable Health Care Act) no Republicans will vote for. For that, they had to play dirty and Pewlosi told us we had to pass the bill to read it (come on!).

Talk about wasting taxpayer money! 30 million will still be uninsured and all of Obama's promises were lies.

Now that Democrats have overreached and exposed their corruption (abuse of power within the IRS, NSA, EPA, Justice, etc.), it looks like you are doomed come the mid-term elections and your "boy" is a neutered lame duck. He now will just practice his corruption with Executive Power, which he should not have.

You people are nothing but lazy mooches who can't wait to collect a check for doing nothing. Does that sound like you, Vladimir?

You are destroying this country.
