I just want to add my complaint about Conn's Appliances to this to help warn people about this shady operation. I bought a refrigerator from Conn's and they forgot to send me the payment book. When it came time for me to make my first payment, I called them and asked them for the amount and to send me a statement. They told me they would send me the payment book. In the meantime, they asked me to make a payment over the phone which I agreed to do but the problem is that they went into my bank account and took not only the amount we agreed upon but something they called a late fee. We never talked about a late fee since it was their fault they did not send me the payment book. The point is I never agreed to any addition amount beyond the specific amount of the monthly payment. In the meantime, they reported me to the Credit Bureau as a late payment in spite of the fact that I agreed and made the payment. It seems they had some kind of internal mix up inside the screwed up Conn's operation where the right hand did not know what the left hand was doing or something like that. I have been disputing this with them for five months now. They refuse to admit they were wrong to go into my bank account and take more money than I authorized. I notified them to never go into my bank account again as I was rescinding any and all authorization giving Conn's any access to my bank account. They have retaliated by refusing to correct the bad marks they put on my credit. They refuse to admit they were wrong to take money I did not authorize from my bank account. I have had at least a couple of dozen phone calls with them and they are rude and disrespectful. They make all kinds of threats that stop very short of being illegal. They have called my house at all times of the day, numerous times to try and inconvenience me. They call on Saturdays and Sundays. They call early in the morning and late at night. They harass and threat by leaving messages on my answering machine that give the impression of being from "Conn's Corporate Offices" or from "Conn's Legal Department". In their message they lead me to believe they are going to work this issue out with me but when I talk to them they refuse to say specifically that they will correct and resolve anything specific. They use pressure tactics. They even sent me a bill saying I am being penalized by raising the total amount of the refrigerator up an additional $275.00. The past Sunday ("Sunday") they left a flier on my door threatening more legal action leading to repossession. They did this while I was inside my home hosting company. This CONN's APPLIANCES is a mean, vile, dirty, vicious and ruthless company. The name Conn's fits them perfectly because they ought to be behind bars somewhere. Now that I am researching complaints against them on the internet, I want to warn other potential victims to take these complaints seriously. Like they say, let the buyer beware when dealing with the cons at Conn's Appliances.

I agree with you 100% on this company. I bought a refrigerator from them almost 3years ago and I am still paying on the darn thing. I am paying double what the item cost, they harass me if i get behind a payment, and they did come to my house to leave me a nasty flier. I was considering buying a laptop from them since my credit is bad but now that I have read all these comments, I dont think so. Thank you so much for speaking out against this rip off store.

THERE CREDIT DEPARTEMENT DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO ADD I OAID OFF MY LOAN TWICE BECAUSE OF THERE MISTAKES THEY ARE RUDE RUDE RUDE AND YOU CAN NOT GET ANYONE ON THE PHONE WHI HAS AUTHORITY

Their service department is very poor. I purchased a new freezer a month ago that when I received itÂ…. it did not work. I have tried with 3 store managers, and numerous customer service people and managers and no one will even return my call. I will never do business with this company again!

Conn's is a lousy company, no question about it. Their customer service people are for the most part rude, semi-illiterate clerks who like having a desk and a telephone and the illusion of power over others. I bought a refrigerator/freezer from them and, after three years, first the freezer---then the icemaker---then the refrigerator went out. I was left without a refrigerator for an entire week because, supposedly, a part was on order. The company has a provision for reimbursement for lost food, but it is only $150; and you must supply an itemized list, whereupon a committee reviews it and takes months to "review". Conn's expects you to be at their disposal when they send a technician out; they expect you to rearrange your schedule around the technician's visit. They could do the right thing and simply cut a check for $150 without all this procedural rigmarole and replace the appliance, especially since my wife is diabetic and she needs a place to keep her insulin cool. Conn's is not about customer satisfaction, contrary to its obstreperous advertising.

Conn's should change their name to "con". They mysteriously lost two of our payments on a 18 months same as cash. Obviously they do this in order to allow their credit department (if you can call that circus a department) to charge a whopping interest on the unsuspecting. I wish I would of done more research prior to our purchase of a washer/dryer. Needles to say, I will NEVER give them any of my business again. We even had a rebate due and that has been missing for 4 months. Perhaps I should charge them an outrageous interest rate on THAT missing money.

CONTACT YOUR LOCAL NEWS STATION AND SEE IF THEY WONT DO A REPORT ON THE WAY THERE DOING THE CONSUMERS.

Good luck on your rebates as well.....its been since Jan 19th and i still havent recieved my rebate nor the check for the damage they caused to the front of my cabinets when the idiots was installing the dishwasher!!!! I have talked to the CEO and that dumbass can care less if you buy anything from there again....yeah as much as there screwing everyone there making some bank...but sooner or later it will catch up to them.

Do NOT buy from this company. They promise you rebates and never send them. I bought a HE Washer/Dryer with the promise of a pedestal rebate of $199.97...they sent me the $65 delivery rebate and said they never received the pedestal rebate. How is that when they were mailed together? The rebate date has expired and I am held holding the bill for the remaining $199.97! They are operating under the right name...CON'S!!!

You signed a contract which stated your payoff date and amount. Coupon book or not, it is your fault for being late. However I do agree you should have been told about the late fee, but you owed it for being late.

Someone told me to look this website up because I work for Conns some have good complaints but you don't. This is an easy solution, when you bought the product you signed an agreement to pay your bill on the 5th or whatever the date set was. You are supposed to be a responsible adult and when you agree to something you keep your agreements. So here is my solution pay your bill on time like you agreed to and you won't have anymore promblems.

We purchased a bed. Was told it would be ready for pickup on 30th of May. Called and talked to ron to make sure it was ready. ron assured me it was there, and when we drove 40 miles to pick it up, was told was not there. We went to the store of purchase, and ron was all of a sudden on a conference call. HMMM!
Stood there waiting to talk to him for 20 minutes. Our presence was not even acknowledged. Instead, a poor woman was left to deal with us. Now the manager of that lewisville, tx store charles, is still avoiding us. Cannot get names of district managers, corporate office, no one. I can assure you that was the last purchase we will ever make there, and I assure you that I will make aware to anybody this situation. Satisfaction would probably have been achieved had the managers chose to deal with this like adults instead of hiding on the phones or in their offices. And we paid in full on the day of purchase.

a little advice, when you sign a contract with CONNS every single charge is outlined on the contract, so there is no "hidden charges", if you see an amount that is wrong, DON'T SIGN THE CONTRACT, and if you do, then that is your problem for not reading the contract and just signing it. and don't try to use the excuse that i took the salesmans word for it, and just signed, that is careless. also, sending a payment booklet to "REMIND" you that your payment is do, is a courtesy, they dont have to send it, you signed a contract that agreed that you would pay a certain amount, on a certain day. it did not state that i will pay a certain amount on a certain day once i receive a payment booklet!!! i have made 4 purchases with this company, and have not ran into any problems with the company. another thing, dont ever make payments over the phone with your checking account or credit card, just go to the local store and make the payment, that goes for any kind of business.

I bought a $2,000 refrigerator from Conn's and it was defective. It made a horrible buzz/rattling noise intermittently from day one. I immediately called the store and was first told of the 15% restocking fee which was laughable, and then directed to the service department and that is where the nightmare really began. Tech #1 came out and could not find anything wrong with it even though i played him a movie of the buzz. He did refer it to the manufacturer for some reason though, who sent their tech #2. Same story "I can't do anything if I can't hear it in person". Tech 1 comes back out and this time in his report writes that it is indeed defective. Now I wait for a "replacement authorization" which is still in question, from the service dept. This has now gone on for over three weeks.
Plus, never do they return phone calls, and everytime I call its a twenty minute hold.
For me it is a no-brainer you sold a defective product - ok it happens - just replace it!
We just moved to Texas from NY and need lots of "stuff" and none of it will ever be purchased from this company. All they had to do was treat me right from the start and maybe even make a positive out of a negative event, but instead they play games like a bunch of morons.

Conns customer service has gone down lately. Many of the delivery drivers and repair people are leaving for better paying jobs because Conns will not reach into their deep pockets to pay these people so yes customer service is lacking and will continue. But please if you have a complaint because you are behind on a payment and being harassed it should be an embarassment to you to even post that complaint.

Agreed. Only you are to blame for financing something you cannot afford. But in this very competitive industry, Conns will go down quickly if they do not get it together on the service end.
