You haven't pointed out anything other than your inability to understand Roe v Wade gave individual states the right to restrict induced abortion following viability *if it chooses* to do so. I agree with this, letting states determine restrictions following viability rather than being federally mandated to restrict or not restrict at all.
Somehow you've stretched it to insist it means I can't possibly support a woman's civil right to personal privacy and bodily autonomy. None of us has civil rights to FULL personal privacy and bodily autonomy. All rights come with limits. For some reason you chide me for agreeing with having limits.
Well said, katie!

Never pretended to be a right to lifer. I am not meddling in people's private lives telling them whether or not to have babies. Therefore exempt. Never wanted to be a parent. Thank goodness birth control works. Wish more people used it correctly.

But many of these nutters who post here also post on topics concerning the immigration crisis. They pretend to care about the unborn and then turn around and mouth off about kids in trouble crossing the border. They say awful things about real living kids. Some even hope that there will be orders to shoot to kill?

So why all this fuss about the unborn? Once they are born, it seems the same folks do not give a damn. In fact, they cannot wait to have a turkey shoot or to execute the ones that do not turn out so well on death row.

Serious disconnect in theology.

Are you referring to the fact that you do not like how your taxes are being spent?

We all pay taxes and many of us are not keen on the things that the taxes are being spent on. I was not happy about my tax dollars being wasted on war. But I have to accept that and if you do not wish for your taxes to be spent on birth control, too bad you have to accept that. It is better than abortions. The more peel use birth control, the fewer the abortions.

We all have to endure some "intrusion" and that is just how it is. But what you are calling intrusion is really an overstatement.

Intrusion is when a woman dis trying to to to her doctor's appointment and there are folks waiting there ready to coerce her into their camp. And yet, these coercing jerks will offer nothing more than prayer. They are not going to help this woman raise her kid. They have no idea what her situation is and it is none of their business.

And no, the Evangelicals are not compassionate. I have too many family members who see themselves that way and they are not nice. I do my best to stay away from them. They are hypocritical jerks.

They pray and pray for the unborn and then when a child is born out of wedlock and the wrong color, then they reject them.

They get all ticked off with welfare mothers and yet, these are the mothers who did not abort.

So it seems the Evangelicals just want what they want when they want it. But anything else that other folks want is just wrong, simply because there is no Evangelical Stamp on it.

On the contrary, the constitution does NOT say you can practice your religion as you see fit; it says you may express it: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..." Your free exercise does not allow you to ignore the laws of the land or refuse to pay taxes.

Yes, women are harassed at clinics all the time, whether you choose to believe it or not. That's why there are escorts. I was raised catholic, so I know them quite well, and some of them are complete nutters on this subject

No one ever coerces anyone at abortion clinics, if you think that they do, then your conscience must bother you. I have seen what happens, I see people praying the rosary ...silently. I have seen women turning around and not getting an abortion. The media and Planned Parenthood have gone out of their way to lie and I see you have believed their propaganda. Catholics are not Evangelicals. You don't know anyone who is Catholic I take. People are people, people are rude everywhere, you lump all Christians in with one group. You are very naive. My religion is against war. So I am being forced to pay for wars that I find reprehensible.

I am not lumping all Christians I to one category, but those who profess to be evangelical are getting on my last nerve.

They want to meddle in everyone else's private lives. They are starting to resemble the Taliban.

So when you stand outside a clinic and try to coerce a woman into having a discussion with you about why she is going there, that is not ok.

How would you like it if someone stood outside your doctor's office and asked you why you were going there and wanting to dissuade you from a medical procedure? There are folks who believe that you should never see a doctor for any reason. How about they stand there and tell you that it is against their religion to go to a doctor, therefore you should not go?

Or what about a Jehovah Witness barging in and advising you to avoid a blood transfusion?

Whether you like it or not, Planned Parenthood does perform other services. And it is not appropriate for you to try to figure out why a man or woman is walking into a clinic.

So MYOB and if you are so concerned about babies, go adopt one.

Personally, I think it would be just as "Constitutional" to picket the churches whose members find it necessary to harass, intimidate, and curse women availing ourselves of a legal medical procedure.

I have a feeling the "evangelicals" of whatever denomination, would fail to appreciate this comeuppance..........but it would certainly serve them right to have to fight through foaming -mad crowds with oprobrious signage, hurling epithets, and threats, on their way to "worship."

Just sayin'.

We'll I guess if you are an ultra conservative, then the mere mention of birth control equals abortion.

The whole point of birth control is to avoid abortions, but it seems birth control is now under suspicion.

And some of the Right Wingers do not want their daughters to know anything about sex or birth control until the night before their wedding. Oh and that whole promise ring thing is downright incestuous, your daddy is keeping your virginity? Really? Gross.

All the while the Right Wingers really do not care what their sons do, they can always blame the girl for being a slut and luring their sons into sin.

This crap is starting to get on my last nerve.

Most of these Right Wingers I know were wild and crazy teenagers. Now they want their kids and everybody else's kids to behave in a way that they themselves could not.

Twisted.

Were you born yesterday?:-)

Youthful indiscretion is acceptable when it comes to males. They are expected to sow their wild wheaties. Womenfolk are expected to be virgins on their wedding night. I'm shocked you did not get that memo.

Tradition. Daddy walks his baby girl down the aisle and hopes that her husband takes good care of her. It does smack of a property transfer, but it's still rather sweet if you consider that Dad wants his daughter to have a wonderful life and he's sorry to lose the role of protector.

NOT that she should need protection - but domestic violence has not gone away and many women are easily "subdued". Not all women know how to roar.

uh, no. Your irrational belief in imaginary "sin" has no bearing on real life. Never mind the absurd hypocrisy of your statement. How much of your tax dollars were spent on "lies"?! Spare us your insanity.
