NO, abortion is always a medical decision, abortion is a medical procedure. Having available modern medical procedures for unwanted conditions is always convenient, ask a third world country that has few if any. You anti choicers just like to use the term convenience in a belittling manner in order to guilt trip...right Brian?
<quoted text>
I allow a woman/girl to make her OWN decision regarding her own pregnancy and the circumstances surrounding it. Your criteria is based on "how" she got pregnant and as a final straw if she willingly participated you will grant her her life. You are too kind Brian.

Freedom.
Fortunately, all that poster has is his opinion, which is relevant only to him. We make our private medical decisions without his interference. This is good.

I find it rather interesting that while you're vehemently against abortion, allegedly because it's "horrible and cruel to the most fragile and innocent on earth," you're not against it for women who've unwillingly conceived through the equally horrible acts of rape or incest.
A lot of people who're dead-set against abortion seem to be against it in any circumstance, yet you aren't.
Equally interesting is that while you recognize the futility of attempting to criminalize abortion, you seem to express the sentiment that if it were, the criminal charges ought to be leveled against those "selfish whores" who happen to seek/obtain one.
If you don't mind my asking, why is it that the majority of those who are so vehemently opposed to abortion always seem to place 100% of the blame at the feet of the woman who is seeking/getting one?
Why is it that the women are so frequently demonized as "hedonistic sluts" while there is rarely any blame laid at the feet of the men who contributed to their pregnancies?
It takes two to "Tango," and men seem to be given that age old pass of, "boys will be boys," while the women/girls are the eternal Hester Prynne's of our society, forced to bear the burden of shame, scorn and ridicule for their choices.
Do we, as a society, really expect women to be made of sterner moral fiber than we expect of men? Do we honestly feel that, not all that deep down, men are simply lustful barbarians who are ruled by their gonads and aren't really to blame for their brutish instincts?
If we do, don't you think there's something fundamentally wrong with that?
You are right I am a bit of a hypocrite. I think it would be cruel to a rape or incest victim to be forced to keep a baby. As far as laying all the blame at the feet of the woman goes, guys cant get pregnant. I call women who get abortion selfish whores because I have never heard of a woman aborting a rich guys baby, only poor dudes babies get aborted.

Are you really this stupid?

Wanna see a perfect example of what I consider a "selfish whore[?]" Here you go.

Now, and be honest; which one of those four guys looked like the "rich guy[?]" Which one looked like the "poor dude[?]"

Why would you think she didn't abort the baby? Two words; child support.

I have no issues with putting an end to this tit-for-tat with Gracie. But,(and I'm pretty sure you were expecting a "but" somewhere) I will restate something I said a few years ago, which I'm pretty sure you will remember; if someone messes with me, I'm going to mess with them. This may sound childish to many, but there are certain behaviors we don't completely outgrow. We can, and often tame them greatly, but anyone with brains knows there is truth to the old adage "boys will be boys."
So, it goes without saying that my reaction to Gracie's posts will be 100% contingent with the tone of her posts. I react. I don't always act, unless it's absolutely necessary to protect myself, or my family. And neither myself, nor my family, is at risk on Topix.

Nope, I ain't screwin it up.

As hard as it is for me to refrain, I know I can.

Boys will be boys, and I rarely back off.

However, should you ever post again what you would like to do with priests that get a free ride after years of molesting children, you just put in a description and I will correct, and add to it.

For the benefit of the "newer" posters, NoahRS, CDII and me are one of the same.

Had it not been because of "technical difficulties" that precluded me to sign in under Conservative Democrat, the user names NoahRS and CDII would have never been used.

RvW was decided before the internet was a thing. if somehow you PLM'ers manage to overturn it, the question reverts to the states, and many states will not outlaw it. The pro-choice movement will probably use the internet to create transportation programs for women of oppressive states to get their procedures in a more civilized state. At least unt another constitutional challenge arises.

"Selfish whores"? You've got issues.

I also think if a woman is set on getting an abortion, in the age of the internet they will find a way. I don't really know what my statement means, but its the truth. I hate it, but there is no point in making something illegal that will become a major source of crime if criminalized. We simply cant afford to arrest all these selfish whores.

Abortions are the same regardless of motivation, idiot.

I make no exceptions--ALL women should be in control of their reproductive processes.

Oh, I'm all about messing with those who mess with me, but it just seems to make both of you angrier, which loses the pleasure of the exchange and just creates a self-generating ball of misery. There are posters I just stop responding to because it gets out of hand. Remember "doc deagall"?

You both seem so much happier when you're responding to others.

Doc deagall? I think I remember him, was he that Aussie dude? That bigot that wouldn't let up on your lifestyle?

Ya, he was a bit of a prick. I rarely read other exchanges (especially if they're more than like a couple of sentences, and they're not to me), and I remember not really being able to bother too much with him. He was an over inflated balloon if memory serves. You can get more flies with honey vs vinegar. Try to be nice to him, and he became a bigger dick. Ya, it's coming back to me.

He probably got arrested for bombing a clinic or something, BUT don't quote me on that.

Ah, Dockie Doc. Remember how he used to always refer to Kathwyn as "ma'am" knowing full well Kath was a man?

Gracie is right. I remember he boasted about working at a law firm in NY, and always had other of his "buddies" that used their full name, followed by Esq., make his arguments for him

Not that they could really argue anything right, and would always resort to the "attention to detail" crap.

Who knows. Maybe he got hired with his beloved New York Rangers.

BTW, he never took me up on my offer to have a beer together while watching the Panthers/Rangers game.

And if memory serves me right, he never showed up in DC to kick Bobby's butt, like he said he would, either.

I don't know if he was Aussie Grace, but I know he claimed to be from NYC. Him and his "buddy" Tap..something something, always used to like playing tag team... Doc would claim he was pro-life, and Tap would claim he was pro-choice. Yet, they never would argue the abortion point against each other.

Many people believed they were the same poster. Much like Pupsy would have many nicks she would constantly use.

Hey, what ever happened to that guy who had the nick "marysaidyes2life?"

I know Ladi, Junket, and Foo aren't around anymore. I sure do miss them.

I often wonder why is it that these people have so much trouble understanding such elementary concept Elise.

I don't know whatever happened to marysaidyes2life, I haven't seen ladi, or Junket. pbfa pops in from time to time, but I haven't seen very much of her here either. Foofoo went the way of the Dodo bird.

Whatever happened to NR?,,, now there was a character. A prick, but still a character. I can usually put two and two together with writing styles as to who I think a poster is, but I haven't been able to do that for a while. I think maybe he's gone. I liked MikeinVa (is that right?), he was the guy that held a very strong opinion about Terry Schiavo. I agreed with him in that btw.

I know that if there ever comes a day where I can't speak for myself, Jeff will be more than happy to tell them to pull the plug... I mean forced to make the decision. We've argued, and I don't think that if my jaw ever gets wired shut (car accident, assault,,, the usual reasons), that that will give him the okay to pull it... but whatever. Ongoing battle here, don't get me started. I also don't think that if I've had a tad too much to drink, and you can't wake me up right away warrants putting me out of my misery with a baseball bat. He says it's out of love because he would hate to see me suffer with a ghastly hangover, but again, I think I would still be able to put him in check, and scare him with what his future would hold for him.

Lynne is gone, I haven't seen her in a coon's age. Beats me.
