Yes, I know what it means. And the nazi's called themselves socialists even though thy weren't. Surprisingly, the KKK aren't knights, either. You can call your kaffeeklatsch anything you want, but that doesn't make it true.

The pope just said that following him on twitter takes time off of your stay in purgatory. Your church is an embarrassment.

Recap; God gave the Pope the authority to head his church and to make church decisions. His successors follow suit the way God intended and "the gates of hell will not prevail against it".
Catholic means universal btw.

why do sooo many believe peter was the first pope, and God built His church on peter, when just a very few verses later, Jesus turns to peter and calls him satan?
peter was just a man saved by grace :)

Right after I talk to the children and nuns your priests raped (and your church aided and abetted), or those of us gays who have had to fight for SSM despite the church's interference in a matter that doesn't even concern them. Or the women whose right to abort is similarly being threatened by a religion most don't even belong to.

There are also the kids your CC will no longer work to get adopted because it would have to follow the law and allow gays to adopt kids.

Makes as much sense as built on peter, not to mention the catholic past, where the blood runs much.

<quoted text>Protestant churches will never unite until the protestants believe in the Eucharist as Christ.
It was precisely that sort of uncompromising, demanding, and intolerant attitude that led to the rise of "Protestantism" in the first place.
Protestants do believe in the Eucharist as an affirmation of their belief in Christ, as a symbolic gesture to the "body," and "blood," of Christ that the Apostles were to said to have partaken during the "Last Supper." The only difference that you seem to be fixated on, is that they don't believe that the wafer and wine are somehow literally transfigured into the body and blood of Christ when the supplicant receives them.
"Knit," you're one of the most stubborn people who posts here. You're also the least willing to give pause for a moment to consider anyone elses point of view.
Protestants aren't going to "unite" and suddenly become Catholics again. They aren't going to "unite" for any reason at all anymore--there are far too many denominations for that.
You've got your Baptists, your Methodists, your Lutherans, your Presbyterians, your Episcopalians, Adventists. Then there's the Jehovah's Witnesses, the Mormons, Unitarians and Universalists, the Pentecostals...the list goes on.
"Knit," why on earth can't you accept reality and recognize that there are groups of people who aren't going to believe exactly as you do?
You are like a modern-day Mary Tudor; one who'd gladly consign all those who don't believe as you do to the "flames" of truth.

He figured out that nothing man can do..ever can make up for man's sin ...nothing ..And most certainly nothing anyone else could do such as the then practice of buying indulgences..wouldn't get anyone into heaven

Twitter

St Peter would never do such a thing .

The sacrifice great enough to pay for sin .was made by Jesus Christ .

According to Christian belief on the Cross.

He said ..It is finished ..

Exactly. Well said and it was actually their Blessed John Paul

Calling those non Catholics who had died for the Faith martyrs.

Who called us ALL to be brothers, and sisters,in Christ.

And they want to canonize him..so they can deny what he Said

Amazes me greatly ..
The apologies,..generally didn't mean them
The CHURCH has no bad history and if you say it does you hate the CHURCH

I ACTUALLY do not ..However A t least I can admit it's history

Like many man run institutions that become entwined in politics .
It became less than it was meant to be by the apostles.

And thus the Reformation was born..

Taking Jesus at His word ..a man must be born again
By the power of the SPIRIT ...nit BY a huge political organization

However today the CC is ACTUALKY having bible study ..

And I believe many Catholics and non are all saved by Jesus,..nit by their Church or mine for that matter .

Like all the other ACers, Rose is focused on late term abortions without realizing these annual numbers are small. These are the very abortions she doesn't think of as abortions. These are the situations where woman's life is in danger.
Rose's problem, like most other ACers, is she wants all abortion criminalized -- especially during the first trimester -- when the majority of annual abortions take place.
She seems to believe all or most of these are done on healthy women, healthy embryos/fetuses.

<quoted text>Contraception means anything which prevents pregnancy. Celibacy is contrary to pregnancy. Abstinence is contrary to pregnancy. Practicing any method, including 'natural family planning' is contrary to pregnancy - at least the unwanted kind.
Rationalize away, my dear, but NFP is not only contraception, it is deliberate contraception. Flies in the face of God's command to go forth and multiply.
You're the second biggest hypocrite I've ever seen here - the first of course, being that hag of a Nebraskan.
Exactly.*Especially* when people deliberately have sex during the non-fertile times.

Let's face it, the reason some of these people desperately try to assign meanings to words - like "artificial" and "contraception," is so they can pretend they aren't doing anything against G-d's will. They happily agree with whatever the Pope tells them because they really need to hear that the sex-for-pleasure they want to repeatedly engage in is "okay." So, the pope gives them a pat on the back and tells them he's got it covered.

NFP, when used to AVOID pregnancy, IS contraception. AND it goes against G-d's will. This is not open to interpretation. Period.

Peter would never have had a throne. Nor worn a crown..oops tiara.

In the first days if the CHURCH ..the BODY OF THE BELIEVERS.

all the money they had went to the widows and orphans and to support the disciples till they git situated in other towns ..they worked..nit just ran the church ..to get food to support themselves and the poor.

FYI before she can rebutt...I don't hold much with huge megabytes either.

The Churches have been at the forefront in Charity from their beginnings ..they have dine much good.

Who I feel bad for are the loyal parishioners who have had their parishes closed ..around here there are so many languages the churches were like home..But then the dioceses sold their buildings and called it integration ..some of these folks have no cars ..And to find another church that has a Mass in their own tongue..the have to go Mike's away to another county..IF that CHURCH has not been sold .

These people love God ..love their CC CHURCH and its sold out from under them to get money for the dioceses.

I know nothing of Church finance but one can only guess why this is necessary and wonder why a CHURCH that boasts, having a,HEAD ..is not supported by that HEAD when money is needed by the poor in its,parishes..

But then it's nit my church is it ???

<quoted text> No, you are incorrect.*purposely* avoiding sex when fertile is to avoid pregnancy. Contraception means that one is having sex and attempting (via artificial or natural means) to BLOCK potential pregnancy from occuring .
There are times when we should avoid sex. I had scheduled surgery and couldn't risk being pregnancy so I abstained. Nothing wrong with that.
I may want to make love when not fertile. That's okay. I may be in the mood when fertile. Thats okay. I am not FORCED to have sex when fertile. Your analogy says otherwise.
Purposely avoiding sex when fertile in order to avoid becoming pregnant is no different than any other form of contraception.

Contra means "against."

Ception means "conception."

What you are doing is "against conception." It has nothing to do with how it is done.

This is indisputable.
