Tomorrow is time for sentencing. Antwon even Johnny Cochran would not have been able to save you! You made a bad decision, and now you are going to jail until you are old and gray and you will remember every day what poor judgement you used.

Whoever wrote that comment needs to shut the f**k up,Antwon is a good person and yeah it was poor judgement on his part but who are you to criticize and judge him. If you know anything about the streets you would understand what really went down and how sh** works and not just what the judge decideds went down...get a life lame!

Sometimes people love to be judge and jury!!! If you really knew Antwon and that he was one of the best kids with great potential caught up in a bad situation YOU WOULDN'T CONDEMN HIM!!!!

God knows the truth and that mob of kids that attacked & shot at his car know the truth. "It's sad that not one kid will come forward in an innocent young mans defense, but we all know the possible price they could pay.

It's Amazing that Schenectady has such a highly noted "CROOKED SYSTEM", that anyone will ever receive a fair trial there!!! We all know how unsafe it is to live there or even visit????? Read the national and local crime statistics. Better yet ask some of the residents how safe they really feel!!!!!

It's easy to convict a young man whom never had a criminal record and was almost finished with COLLEGE than to do an extensive investigation as to whom all the shooters were in this case!! " NOT ONE PIECE OF PHYSICAL EVIDENCE TO CONVICT THIS KID". Ask the forensics expert in the case!!(this can be found in the court transcripts)

IF YOU ATTENDED THE TRIAL, 2 SCHENECTADY POLICE TOOK THE STAND AND TOLD HOW THE KIDS CAME TO THEM AT THE SCENE OF THE CRIME AND NAMED ANOTHER PERSON OF INTEREST!!!! THIS WAS NOT ANTWON!!!!!
BUT WE ALL KNOW DEALS ARE EASILY MADE AS LONG AS A DIFFICULT CASE CAN BE CLOSED!!!!! "SAD BUT TRUE" AN INNOCENT YOUNG MAN HAS BEEN CONVICTED AND ALL PEOPLE CAN DO IS FEEL JUSTICE HAS BEEN SERVED.
WE ALL KNOW SCHENECTADY IS FAMOUS FOR IT'S SAFETY AND OUTSTANDING POLICE DEPARTMENT. WHAT A SAD SITUATION THEY HAVE GOING ON OUT THERE!!! JUST READ THE NEWSAPAPERS.
ONE RESIDENT IN THE SUMMER OF 2008 WAS MALICIOUSLY ATTACKED & BEATEN BY A MOB OF YOUTHS IN HAMILTON HILL WHILE HE WAS WALKING HOME FROM WORK. HE PROCEEDED TO ATTEND THE SCHENECTADY COMMON COUNCIL MEETING THE NEXT DAY WITH HIS BLOODY CLOTHING, DEMANDING SOMETHING TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS HORRIFIC SITUATION. TALK TO HIM AND SEE WHAT THE OUTCOME WAS. HE NOW WANTS TO RUN FOR OFFICE TO HELP FIX THIS GROWING OCCURENCE!!!
THE SCHENECTADY CITY POLICE CHIEF AND HIS WIFE WERE JUST RECENTLY CONVICTED AND SENTENCED FOR MAJOR DRUG TRAFFICING (2009)!!! ANOTHER POLICE OFFICER PREVIOUSLY ARRESTED FOR SELLING GUNS IN THE HOOD RECENTLY WAS ARRESTED AGAIN FOR ASSAULTING HIS WIFE.
I GUESS THIS FORUM REALLY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SPORTS, BUT IT IS A "REAL ISSUE" WITHIN THE INNER CITIES AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED!!!!!
"IT IS NOT O.K" TO CONVICT AN INNOCENT YOUNG MAN FOR A CRIME HE DID NOT COMMIT!!!! IT IS NOT O.K FOR OUR YOUTH TO HAVE ACCESS TO GUNS!!! IT IS NOT O.K. FOR THESE WEAPONS OF "MASS DESTRUCTION" TO BE AVAILABLE TO ANYONE, INCLUDING CITIZENS WHO HAVE PISTOL PERMITS!!!!
WAKE UP PEOPLE, JUST BECAUSE SOME OF YOU LIVE IN A ROSE FILLED DREAM, DOESN'T MEAN IT CAN'T HAPPEN TO YOU!
I FEEL FOR BOTH FAMILIES AND PRAY THAT GOD WILL SEE THEM THRU AND CHANGE THIS TERRIBLE MESS BEFORE IT HAPPENS TO SOMEONE ELSE.
"GOOD LUCK ANTWON" I KNOW YOU AND HOPE JUSTICE WILL COME YOUR WAY!!!
I HOPE THAT THE INDIVIDUALS WHO SHOT AT ANTWON AND HIS PASSENGER "FEEL RELIEF" THAT THEY WERE NOT CONVICTED FOR THE SHOOTING OF RITCHIE GUERRERO!!!! THEY SMILE NOW, BUT WILL BE JUDGED IN THE END!!!!

This is a classic case of wrong place wrong time... I grew up with antwon and knew him since he was a toddler. He went to catholic school until the 12th grade so he was raised the right way and he was not a lost product of the street or criminal. But as a man you are taught to defend yourself no matter what. this was not a case of retaliation but of self defensive. In most cases when the situation is life or death. what should you do kill or be killed? Its easy to say call the police and let them take care of it but what happens when you don't have enought to wait for them, when all you have is a split second to decide my life or there's. Keep in mind I say there's because there was more than one person attacking his car. I want to say right now I don't agree with the fact the young man got hurt its very sad but the question is does the sentence fit the crime? I say NO. This case was clearly poorly conducted and had all sorts errors. If prosecution and police weren't so corrupt, He may not even be serving anytime right now, due to lack of evidence to convict beyond a reseasonable doubt. For all those who think I'm just an advocate for Antwon your wrong. I'm advocate for what's right. Personally I have been on both sides of the spectrum because my sister was stabbed to death in May 2002. The person that killed her was only sentenced to 14 years so for him to be sentenced to 25 years, I feel that is completely unfair and furthur more unjust and unconstitutional. So in closing all I say put yourself in this situation before you judge and I leave you with this question " what would do under these circumstances? I'm curious to know.

It was a difficult case for many reasons, and little did I understand how difficult it is to sit in judgment of another human being without having first hand knowledge of the people, the culture, or the circumstances at issue. However, the physical evidence was quite clear. Antwon had the gun that night, he used the gun to shoot into the crowd of kids (his own admission), and a previously healthy 15 year old boy is now a quadriplegic completely dependent upon his devoted mother. Both his basketball buddy and all other kids present that night gave similar testimony. Antwon did himself no favors taking the stand and showing us how he used the gun that night. Additionally, I have never seen anyone so aloof and removed from the horrific events described to us all in that courtroom. Antwon appeared bored by the tragedy he created, and completely unconcerned by the many, resulting shattered lives.
After our verdict was handed down, both attorneys and the judge called us all together to congratulate us for correctly discerning what had transpired and handing down the "correct" verdict. In many criminal trials, evidence is barred from entering the proceedings due to a variety of reasons from chain of custody, police error, attorney negotiations, etc. We learned about some of the evidence that was not afforded during the trial, nor available to us during our difficult final decision. Had it been available, we would have come to our decision much sooner and without doubt. When we, the jury, had made our rather harsh judgment, I was worried that it would haunt me from time to time. After seeing more of the evidence, subsequent to our verdict, I can say that I have lost no sleep due to our verdict. My only concern is that people like Antwon actually exist.

antwon is such a sweet heart and has done nothing wrong but protect him self and for the judge to give him such time is straight up and down ridiculous!!!! he has never comitted a crime before and there are many other people out in this world that has done WORSE things and are repeated offenders and get less time than antwon. This was unfair and unjust and the jury knows that. Antwon justice will be served on your behalf because GOD knows what good heart you have

I'm amazed by the comments that some of you are making, mainly the Jury member. There is no question that something really wrong occurred that night. Two separate families would loose their healthy young teenagers forever. But on that evening 2 kids made the wrong decision, one to attack ,and the other to protect himself, however he could. Unfortunately, someone was hit terribly, but not at all innocent to that night. It's unfair that both families have to suffer the damages faced by both teenagers on that night. But, really none of us could actually imagine what Antwon was feeling when he was put in that situation, 100 kids coming to attack you! Simply because you were asked to drive someone, someplaceplace you thought would be safe!!! Hello what the hell was he suppose to do? allow his life to get taken that night??? Come on. If you were in that situation , you would do whatever you would have to do to survive. So your right, it was the worst thing he could do, sit up on that stand and tell the TRUTH,.1st of all he Trusted in the Truth and 2nd of all HE DID WHAT HIS EXPENSIVE ASS LAWYER TOLD HIM TO DO BECAUSE HE TRUSTED IN THE LAW AND IN HER. So next time get your facts striaght!! and Yes u should loose SLEEP because you help Convict an INNOCENT LIL BOY!! AND U ALMOST DESTROYED HIS FAMILY IN THE PROCESS. GOD WILL make sure u REP What U Sew .AMEN!
