Let's put the blame where it belongs. Calhoun was clueless, standing with his arms crossed most of the second half. I believe they had a total of 8 assists. The entire second half was watching everyone stand around watching the inept guards go one on one. The blame rests with the terrible guard play and terrible coaching. I hope Calhoun enjoys a 4 star dinner with his huge contract while we eat potato chips and watch garbage on the court. He should return part of his salary right now as he did nothing to earn it today. The guards should also return their scholarships. Let's stop kidding ourselves talking about scholar athletes. They are basically professionals in waiting and should be treated as such. Price as a senior should give much more than what we say today. He was a joke. Kemba Walker, well... my wife could make more free throws then he did today. I know he is a freshman but again, they are paid (through scholarships and the other perks they receive) big money to produce. None of the guards did that today. As a results they are loser. Calhoun will blame everyone else and not answer questions because the reporters allow him to get away with that crap.

Hadn't seen UConn this year and only a little of MSU. But MSU couldn't have played any better than they did and UConn could have played better than they did.

Gotta give Izzo credit; he knew he couldn't win a half-court game. MSU had to run and they did; very well.

UConn appeared, to this poster anyway, to have a better ball-club. But better ball clubs sometimes lose.

Can someone launch a 3 please? They could've used a couple towards the end, instead of driving to the basket and missing sure layups!I think they panicked, and lost.Thabeet isn't even close to NBA calliber. He will be thrown around like a rag doll there! He will be injury-prone,like Marcus Camby.Everytime he hits the deck,he looks shocked.GO LADIES TONIGHT!!

If Uconn hits 3/4 of their freethrows it's a sure bet they win.UConn left to many free bees at the line. They got MSU in foul trouble but could not capitalize on the free throws.

UNC is going to destroy MSU!

It comes down to heart... MSU had it and UCONN did not. As a matter of fact, UCONN never had any heart because Pitt took it and put it in their back pocket.

Seems like complaining when you quote "visiting". The odds of MSU just making it to the Final Four the same year its in Michigan are slim.

MSU's defense and Tom Izzo out coaching Calhoun is what won the game..

Thabeet is going to get owned next year in the league if he decides to leave. He comes across as cocky and thinking he is really better than he is. If all of us we're lucky enough to be 7'3 we'd be able to block shots like he does. I just don't think he and some of the rest of the players on the team realize how serious the state of CT takes UCONN basketball. With no pro sports, UCONN basketball is our team. Basic fundamentals killed us last night - no one boxed out, missing free throws, etc.

how come I can't muster any energy to care about college basketball?

I agree with your assessment. Adrien and Thabeet seemed a little over confident. Thabeet should stay another year and get in the weight room, bulk up a little and work on his footwork. He can be dominant. He's close....

My opinion from Michigan is that a few players from Louisville and Uconn seemed like they already "made it" and are more concerned about the NBA....just an observation

Yes, even though my nick name is Spartan, I DID NOT root for MSU, as a matter of fact, I am from Connecticut, and very proud of it. I have followed the Huskies since I can remember, and has always been a very competitive BKB college team, but this year I wonder if they rested too much on their laurels.
I live in Canada now, and only about a hour drive from Detroit, I could have gone to watch the game at Ford Field in Detroit, but I am glad I decided to stay home. I could not have beared the pain to watch my beloved Huskies give this game away. Better luck next season!!

Missed free throws and lack of perimeter shooting are the reason MSU plays another day. Nice run UConn.

What a shame for all of the UConn bandwagon fans who only started following UConn basketball when they were winning.

I think you just don't care about minor league basketball which is basically what the NCAA has become. All the kids in the biggest schools care about is going pro.
It's like rooting for a minor league baseball team,if the players are good they're going to be gone in a year or two to the next level.

Just a couple of observations from an MSU fan. Canít help but wonder about the ego factor here. Both Pitino and Calhoun didnít think they needed to prepare for the Spartans. Izzo did a brilliant job of changing game plans to fit each game and both Louisville and UConn complied by not changing theirs. Both Pitino and Calhoun didnít accept responsibility in their press conferences. They seemed stunned that their players couldnít handle MSU...didnít seem to make the connection that they hadnít prepared their players. Calhoun even spoke about playing other Big Ten teams, as if that was preparation... did he even watch MSU in the tournament? As I said, ego. And one last thing. It didnít escape our notice that UConn didnít cut down the nets after the Missouri win, that kind of stuff matters to us blue-collar folks.
