WCU finished with the same overall record as the University of Michigan, 3-9. Things are looking up!

WCU defense played a very good game but got left on the field too long in the second half. Offense made some great "almost" plays. You can see flashes of what is to come. Coach Wagner is going to build us a winner! Take heart WCU - Keep the faith Cat Fans - the Cats will definitely be BACK.

WCU was not prepared at all for the crowd, mainly the large App crowd. The # of people left out in line for almost half of the game was absolutely ridiculous. Opposing schools need to learn that when App comes to town, we bring support, and lots of it. When over 30,000 show up in Boone for a game, they get in quickly. Luckily I saw a small gate letting a few WCU alums in and snuck in that way. They questioned me, but didn't have the audacity to turn me away when I showed a ticket...If I pay money to see my Mountaineers whip yet another opponent, I want to see the entire game. It was nice that the Apps decided to save the whipping for the second half for all the folks who didn't get in the stadium until then. The management of the entry process was worse than Gardner-Webb 2 years ago. They just were not ready for the huge App crowd. I'll stop the rant here, and not go on about the drunk, belligerent WCU students who had to be taken off of the premises.

The final score:

Western Carolina ... 10

ASU's 2nd string ... 35

Sorry WCU, but it's the truth.
ASU benched the first string for this game to rest them for the national playoffs.

From ASU's perspective, the game was meaningless since ASU had already
won the conference and therefore, the automatic bid to the national playoffs.

I almost feel sorry for WCU, if they are not even capable of beating ASU's 2nd string

Almost

Almost
2nd string? We started Matt Cline in the backfield who is not even a running back normally, and then went with Josh Jackson....they were more like the 4th and 5th options coming into the season in the backfield, and are both walk-ons. Devon Moore, Welton, and Radford were all ahead of these guys.

Take heart App and enjoy this unprecedented run of success that you are having. I promise you it will not last forever and someday, WCU will shine.

That being said, good luck in the playoffs.

GO WESTERN!!!

It was a large crowd but about 75-80% of it were Western Fans...get over yourself. There is always a line of people trying to get into the game at kickoff at WCU.

That's because the game management staff at WCU does a terrible job.

Also, great job ACT, for sending two reporters to covering a loosing football team while a winning womens basketball team was playing in the Ramsey Center in a national tournament and no coverage whatsoever. Shame on you.

I doubt it...the biggest lines I've seen at WCU were the lines of people leaving the stadium during another loss.....their fan support is not hitting on much.
